PAUL'S PANIC BOLT-HOLES TO FOIL INTRUDERS
NEWLY-WED Sir Paul McCartney is fitting his luxury homes with high-tech "panic rooms" to foil crazed intruders.
Worried Macca fears he and bride Heather Mills could be targeted by stalkers, kidnappers or even assassins following their high-publicity marriage.
So he has joined a growing band of celebrities building armour-plated bunkers in their houses.
Sir Paul will spend up to £150,000 a time on reinforced steel fortresses at his £5 million home in London's St John's Wood and his mansion in New York.
The bullet-proof boxes - dubbed Panic Rooms after the hit movie starring Jodie Foster - provide secret bolt-holes where Macca and Heather could flee from potential attackers.
They will contain CCTV monitors to keep tabs on intruders and emergency buttons to alert local police.
Sir Paul has always been careful about his safety following John Lennon's murder in 1980 and the knife attack on George Harrison two years ago.
But a friend said: "His marriage has sparked a lot of unpleasant gossip and he is well aware that fans can turn into enemies."

It's sad that Macca has to fear for his life like that, but if that makes him feel safe then more power to him.

Yeah, it is sad, but when you think about it I don't know that he has a choice. There are kooks out there who would certainly stalk Paul and Heather and since they are high profile people, they are at greater risk.

Then we will remember things we said today. Yeah.

Do you wear wigs?
John: If we do they must be the only ones with real dandruff.

Ringo: I just hope they don't get indigestion

Hahahaha, makes you think of things that we might not see otherwise....
Paul walking around in a fur.
Heather clipping cupons.
Stella being nice, and covered up! (that girls clevage is ALWAYS showing)
Paul doing NSYNC dance routines while watching MTV

I'd be quite prepared for that eventuality.

Me either. Remember how "well-protected" George's house supposedly was? It's unfortunate that Paul is made to feel unsafe due to his celebrity status - so I'm glad he's doing everything he can to protect himself!

Yeah, that's just using common sense.
Good point, 'Bird. All the precautions in the world are still no guarantee as in the case with George.

jesus
you don´t know how paranoid the two surviving beatles must be...if they read what you guys been writing about bombs and maps...
I wonder since he lives in that middle of nowhere (st. leonard something),
police might take a few days to get there... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/smile1.gif but i hope he´ll never need to use this room, cause if he does, he might call the press, call the queen and later release an album referent to the days he had to spend inside a panic room..and oooooooof, another bunch of soppy songs about freedom and human rights
but i truly believe macca cannot die; he will live forever, he´ll bury all of us.
(just like in that goldie hawn and meryl streep film, i don´t know the name of it in english....)
