Rubyhorse On Tour With George Harrison
Fri Jun 21,12:57 PM ET
Rock up-and-comers Rubyhorse are sharing the stage with Beatles legend George Harrison as they tour the country supporting their Island Records debut album, Rise. When the group performs its song, "Punchdrunk," it incorporates into it a tape of the part the late Beatle contributed to the album version.
Frontman Dave Farrell and bassist Decky Lucey tell LAUNCH that the experience moves them on a nightly basis.
"It's cool, it's like having a Beatle in the building. It's not eerie in any way, it's just very reverent," Lucey says. "I can't even talk about it anymore because it's just, you know, some days you wake up and you have to pinch yourself as you kind of forget for a second, 'It's George Harrison, for Christ's sake.'"
Farrell adds, "And there's been a couple of venues and a couple of nights where you're just on stage and that slide guitar comes in to that first chorus and it's...it really has been moving. It moves us."
Lucey continues, "He's there. He is there."
Harrison's part, recorded in England and shipped to Rubyhorse, was among the last by the guitarist. He died in late 2001.
Rubyhorse's Rise also features the single, "Sparkle."
