SIR PAUL McCARTNEY is to take his new bride HEATHER MILLS for an extended honeymoon at the Scottish home he once shared with late wife LINDA.
High Peak Farm on the MULL OF KINTYRE island was where Paul fled to rebuild his life with the help of his first spouse following the break-up of the BEATLES - he also wrote the famous song about it.
The singer's second marriage has already caused tension with his three children, including fashion designer STELLA, and the visit of his new bride to a place which holds so many memories for the family may not help matters.
Linda rebuilt the farm from a state of disrepair in the '70s and it was the place where the couple first discovered vegetarianism.
A source close to the estate, near Campeltown, Argyle, told the Scottish Sunday MAIL newspaper, "Paul always comes at this time of year but this time he's bringing Heather.
"They will be here for a few weeks and will probably do some of the things he used to do with Linda here... a bit of horse riding and walking.
"This is a special place for him and we've been told to get ready to welcome his new wife."
The couple are due to arrive by private jet to a tiny airfield near Machrihanish before driving to High Peak.

Well, it's his home, isn't it? I'm sure he's told Heather all about it and wants her to see it. Nothing wrong with that.

He clearly wanted to share something that meant a lot to him with her. I think that's lovely.

This article kind of seems negative toward Heather, from the idea put by the title that Heather is surplanting Linda, to the often mentioned tensions with the McCartney children....What's wrong with him wanting to visit his home? And does the fact that he's taking his new wife there really merit a news story?

But I liked hearing about the farm's history with Paul and Linda, THAT was interesting. Despite the somewhat negative connotations it was a good article. Thanks Amalthea!

Thanks for the article, I think it's wonderfully nice of him to take her there and share more of his life with her.

Yeah, Paul has many homes & I'm sure if Heather hasn't seen/visited them all, she will in time.
I wouldn't expect him to sell them all & buy all new ones for him & Heather.

HeyBeatle put it well. I think it is lovely that he wanted to share an important part of his life with her.
I really don't think he or she are trying to "replace" Linda -- you can't replace a person. Linda will always be loved and missed, but sadly she is no longer here. Paul seems like a family man by nature and he is lucky that he found love twice.

But it's got to be difficult for both of them - it's full of memories of Linda. Heather's going to have to accept that.
I wish them the best of luck. no sarcasism intended

http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/drool.gif I'd only seen a picture or two of High Peak Farm, my gosh it's beautiful. I just love greenery all around. Hmm, I wonder if I could buy a box big enough to UPS me over to Scotland. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif
