Will and Gareth to cover Beatles classic

Will Young and Gareth Gates are to record a duet.

They will team up for a version of The Beatles' Long And Winding Road.

But they're both so busy they've got to film each of their parts of the video separately and it will be edited together.

A spokesman told The Sun Will and Gareth had wanted to duet on You Are The Sunshine Of My Life or Try A Little Tenderness but both songs were considered "too smoochy".

The single will be released later in the year.

Will and Gareth were the people who won Pop Idol earlier this year. Well, Will was the outright winner, but Gareth was more successful because of it.

In a way, it's good that they're doing it because they're bringing the Beatles to the younger audience, but on the otyher hand I hate it when manufactured singers cover classics since those songs were created by talent, and so require talent to pull them off successfully, which these guys frankly don't have.

I had never seen anything on the British pop Idol thing except that American Idol was based off of it, but those names sound familiar.

I don't know if I want to hear it, it could be be good, but then again...
