Julian Lennon has recorded a cover of a Beatles hit for use in a US TV ad.

When I'm 64 will soundtrack a life insurance ad for the Allstate Financial Group.

It will begin airing in the US this month.

This is believed to be the first time John Lennon's eldest son has recorded a Beatles song.

The ad featuring When I'm 64 can be seen at http://www.allstate.com/media/newsheadlines/pr_2002/PageRender.asp?page=pr_2002_01_21 .htm (http://www.allstate.com/media/newsheadlines/pr_2002/PageRender.asp?page=pr_2002_01_21.htm)

Y'know, I was gonna say the same thing...and isn't it funny that the song in question is actually a Paul song???

Sigh...

I thought so too...funny choice for Julian to sing.

I met him once and he was sooo nice. I got his autograph after a concert....I'm reminiscing now!

I don't think John left him much money. Most of it went to Yoko.

Actually, Julian was left a substantial trust fund by John. He has proven himself to be very bad with finances many times over, to the point where Yoko refused to give him the money in a lump sum, which has been a source of resentment on Julian's part for many years. Frankly, I say, Julian's nearly 39 years old, give him the money and let him dig his own hole...but I digress...

I believe, though, that John did indeed provide for Julian quite generously in his will. I know someplace there's an actual copy of John's will that you can read, I used to have the URL for it, so if someone knows it, maybe they could post it. But don't blame this entirely on Yoko...

I didn't blame it on Yoko.I read that John left him 250,000$.The rest went to Yoko.Sorry if I misunderstood.Who really knows what he left him.Besides if someone is gonna remake a Beatles song ,why not Julian.I'd be interested in hearing it.
