The re-released George Harrison single should reach number one on Sunday,
according to midweek sales figures.

HMV say My Sweet Lord is outselling the next highest new entry - Pink's Get
The Party Started - by 3500 copies.

Proceeds from the Harrison release will be donated to the Material World
Charitable Foundation.

This will mean that Chubby Checker won't be the only artist to have the same song go to #1 twice with himself singin the song

I believe that normally BBC Ceefax reports the new Top 40 sunday evenings on page 565 from round 18.00 UK time, but prior to that reports about the new #1 appear at page 540 already from Friday (today).
