I can't open the "Latest News on George" topic in Crackerbox Palace at the moment, so I'm posting this here. Since this article contradicts part of what was reported earlier, I'm hoping the entire story of George being re-hospitalized for treatment is untrue. -- Sandra
George Harrison has reportedly entered a New York-area hospital for further cancer treatment. The Daily Telegraph reports that the former Beatle was admitted to the Staten Island University Hospital under the supervision of Dr. Gil Lederman, who is known for his pioneering treatment of advanced cancer patients.
The newspaper quoted hospital sources as saying Harrison was admitted under the name George Arrias, using his wife Olivia's maiden name. A source was also quoted as describing Harrison as "very frail and gaunt." Harrison was treated for a brain tumor earlier this year and had previously been treated for lung and throat cancer.
In a patient inquiry to the hospital, LAUNCH found no one admitted under the name of Arrias, or Harrison for that matter , and a hospital spokesperson could not confirm or deny if Harrison has indeed been admitted as a patient. However, Dr. Lederman is, in fact, a practicing oncologist at the hospital.
Calls to Harrison's publicist were not returned as of press time.
