Considering the facts as they are, it is rather fitting that the musical group of the 20th century closes it out with the #1 album. For the third week in a row, and the fourth week out of six, the Beatle' "1" is still at the top of the charts.
This past week the Beatles sold 1,258,670 units to firmly hold onto #1. It has now sold over 4.6 million copies in the US alone.

I'm more than stunned by this-I didn't think a collection of hits would do this well, especially since Songtrack barely cracked the Top 20.

I suprised, but I'm not lol. I think it's amazing that we begin the next century with the Beatles in the #1 spot. They will be around for a long time.

What our generations calls classic (Beethoven, Bach, Mozart) will be Beatles music for the generation in e.g. 2050 or 2100 and we out here will still enjoy it 'live'in our living years.
Amazing indeed that so many buy it. I did, but I consider that rather normal, but there are so many 'youngsters' who get interested in them.

Happy New Year to you all.

They are truly universally classic and will endure forever. What a legacy! Legends in their own times.

Neither do I. I'm not so sure I need it, though it is an interesting collection on one cd.

I don't have it, either. I like my original collection the way it is. However, I'm thrilled and delighted that the boys are #1 again! Noone deserves it more!
