So, what's 'Beatles 1' REALLY like then? Worth buying even if you own all the songs?

I think it depends on what kind of a person you are:
If you want to collect anything Beatles related despite duplicity then it is worth it.
If you are happy to go without and listen to all the same songs on different CDs then don't bother getting it.
I checked out the booklet yesterday and decided (for now anyway) that I won't get it. The pictures are good but nothing that hasn't been seen before.
Actually now that I really think about it, it would go nicely in my car - it might save me from changes CDs every 2 minutes. Maybe I will get it....?

Yes, I will get Beatles 1. I've gotten all the other compilations before it, so I need it to keep my collection complete.

I'd definatly get it, and on vinyl if poss, but I'm sure the CD is just as good. With vinyl you get a much warmer sound, and it comes with a load of inserts!

Well, If I were to buy all compilations, that would mean, personally, to complete my collection, I'd have to buy:
Red/Blue Albums
Beatles 1
John Lennon Collection
Imagine Soundtrack
Lennon Legend
Wings Greatest
All The Best
Best Of George Harrison
Starrstruck
Hmmmmmm! Can't afford all that!

Paul, just take it one step at a time. You don't have to buy all of them at once.

No, but the question is: Is it worth it? Because, in the end, you are paying a lot of money and not getting anything 'new' to listen to.

In my opinion, I'd say yes it is. In fact, I bought mine today.

I've seen the covers and there certainly were some which were new to me.
Got a good reason, for taking the easy way up now, to the shop.

i got it for my b-day! I love it. ALthough I had a greatest hits album on tape it's good cause it's cd and has a few extra songs on it. It's the Beatles so it is good.

I'm closing this topic since it isn't Beatles news.
