(10/28/00) San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown will proclaim Oct. 5 as Beatles Day. The city's Metreon center at Fourth and Mission Streets will feature free live performances by tribute band the Fab Four (12:30 p.m. Oct. 6 and 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. Oct. 7). The center will feature Beatle-related festivities from Oct. 4-7, timed with the release of the Beatles Anthology.

If I could be there, I would. But in my mind, every day is Beatles Day! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif

Chicago had a Beatles Fest, but my Dad deliberately didn't tell me, knowing I'd want to go and he'd be stuck driving. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/frown.gif Life is limited when you can't drive.

Yes, and park it in the middle of Chicago at an attraction that draws millions. Heck, it won't get stolen...http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

Penny, just hang on for a couple of more years and you'll be able to drive almost anywhere you want.

A Beatles day would be cool, however I don't think it should be in one city, it should be world wide!

Yeah, but then you'd have the complainers who feel that because the Beatles got a day, that it is only just to dedicate a spot on the calendar to The Backstreet Boys, The Spice Girls, LenMc...it just gets too scary to think of, not to mention ridiculous. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif
