Hi everyone!
With this issue, Rooftop Sessions celebrates its third anniversary! We have two full years of presenting the finest in Beatles-related fiction on the Web behind us, and hope to continue for a long time to come. Thanks to all of you, our readers, without whom we would not be as successful as we are. You are greatly appreciated.
There are several housekeeping items before I tell you about the actual issue. First, please be aware that the Rooftop Sessions Fiction Digest Volume Two is now available. This gorgeous, professionally-produced, perfect-bound trade paperback book contains many of your favorite stories, plus exclusive illustrations by LIPA graduate Rori Shapiro and a special story by Mary Spollen written especially for this volume! Ordering information is on the main Rooftop Sessions page.
Second, for those of you who will be attending the New York Metro Beatlefest in Secaucus, New Jersey next weekend (March 8-10), I, along with Rooftop Sessions authors Lisha Goldberg, James Ryan, Mary Spollen and Leslie Wylie and illustrator Rori Shapiro, will be having two fan fiction discussion panels, one on Saturday at 9:30 PM and one on Sunday at 6:15 PM. I will also be there on Friday night during the guest introductions. Additionally, we will have a table in the lobby area (probably outside the main ballroom) where we will have books for sale (which we will be happy to sign for you) and will be available to answer any and all questions you might have. At the very least, we hope that some of you will come by and say hello during the day!
Third, please remember that our Fiction Contest is still accepting entries until April 30, so if you are a fanfic writer or know someone who aspires to have their fanfic published, go to the main Rooftop Sessions page and follow the links to the contest rules and guidelines.
And now, without further ado, we proudly present our offerings for March 2002:
"And now...here they are...The Bottles!" by Lisha Goldberg - You never know what you might find floating in those bays in Florida...
"And Then There Were Two..." by Cheryl Mortensen - Sometimes it's really hard to lose an old friend.
"A Measure of Trust - Part Two" by C.A. Jones - Just when she has nowhere else to turn, Deirdre gets some unexpected help from Ringo.
"Rumors - Part One" by Beth Shorten - It was just a simple story to get her boss to stop harassing her -- Andrea never dreamed it would escalate into the Rumor of the Century!
"Shelly and the Beach Bum - Part Two" by Mary Spollen - The mysterious waif in the jungle is revealed...and Paul and Shelly are compelled to help!
"What About the Night We Cried" by Judy Johnson - Tensions have escalated to the point of no return -- Paul and John are forced to confront their animosity head-on!
And in our "Write Thinking" section:
"Yes, A Second Time!" by Sandra M. Ulbrich - Now that your story is finished, it's time to do some revision!
Additionally, we have a special reprint of an article featuring fan fiction that we are sure will be of great interest to all of you! (Many thanks to Bill King and the Goody Press for permission to reprint this article!)
"Beatles Worship Through Words" by Kit O'Toole - Fan fiction was highlighted in Issue #133 of Beatlefan Magazine -- Editor Susan Ryan and some of your favorite Rooftop Sessions authors and other fanfic writers are profiled in this special reprint.
I've also added a couple of new links to the section on the main page -- be sure to check out these fabulous Beatles-related sites.
As always, the URL is www.rooftopsessions.com (http://www.rooftopsessions.com) , and as usual, there are links to all the authors, as well as myself, so you can e-mail us with your feedback and comments! We love to know what you think, so don't be too shy to tell us.
Thanks again for your support of Rooftop Sessions over the past two years, and here's to many more!
