ok, so we all know that Dec will be the 20th "anniversary" (thats such a horrible word for it), of John's death and I thought we could all pitch in together and do a tribute for him. The thing we could do is spread the word and try and get Total Request Live, on MTV to play his video and also VH1 to play some of his videos. I know it isn't much, but if his video was played during TRL, a lot of people of the teen generation would see it and hopefully become instant fans. If anyone else has any ideas, please post! 'Cause I really want to do a Tribute for him.

That's a great idea. I just hope TRL, MTV and VH1 are not the only ones to do so.
A movie of his life would really be something to attract more followers. Something similar to what was done for Linda McCartney recently.

Good ideas folks!
A John Lennon film would be wonderful! It would have to be really good though.

Great idea, any UK members out there know a Lennon Lookalike called Gary Gibson?
He looks exactly like John circa 1970 and sounds exactly like him, he could star in the movie.
In November, our fan club(Beatles Ireland) will be holding oour 3rd Beatlemania Festival, we are currently negotiating sponsorship, and the theme is to be Imagine, in honour of John, I will keep you posted.
Love & hugs.

He's very good.
Actually, he has a web-site, and you can find it here under "tribute bands" I think.

Death alone is not enough to extinguish a spirit like John.

That is a lovely thought, Penny Lane.
We really should do something, perhaps we could co-ordinate a request through all the web-sites we all visit, you know- one of you moderators compose a request, and we all e-mail it, and ask all other on-line fanatics to do the same. I dont know, I'm just about computer literate, just at infant level, but I'm sure you techno boffins out there could come up with something.

Penny just gave me an idea, perhaps we could organise a tribute to Yoko, you know, 'Keeper of The Flame' sort of thing. What do you think?

Not to sound mean, Yoko doesn't exactly deserve a tribute.

OK Penny, perhaps not a tribute as such, but some sort of acknowledgement. No? oh, well, just a thought.

Yoko? Let's stick to the idea of a tribute to John. I'm sure the popular oldies radio station, WCBS-FM in NYC, will mark the sad occasion appropriately. I'll drop them an e-mail just to remind them to start preparing. Twenty years! Horrible thought.

yoko! let's commerate her for...being wonderful. does anybody know anybody at mtv personally, like the owner. then maybe thewy could play all beatles all the time and change their name for a day or two. just joking. how 'bout a bit of silent reflection or we should agree to all stand outside at the same rime one day and sing some song at the top of our lungs. Dear Yoko maybe.

Not MTV. I hate MTV. It is a teenage wasteland. If anyone is fit to do a tribute, VH1 is.
