moving converted files

think i went through this discussion earlier this year with jerry...can someone explain to this newbie, why downloaded files (these were flac files, a concert) converted to alac will rearrange themselves when imported to i tunes, thus throwing the whole show out of rhythm.
if i remember jerry said he thought it was probably the way the files are tagged.
any help/advice or a link to an explanation to a fix would be appreciated.

Yeah, I would guess it's the way they're tagged. People can rename stuff any way they want, and then iTunes will mix it all up when you throw it in there. You should be able to highlight multiple songs, and then rename certain tags for all of them at once. But as far as song order, you'll have to go in and change them one by one.

thanks jerry ..i'll give it a go. seems every time i make a playlist that is the order of the setlist it is fine in the playlist...put it on my i pod and bam , back to scrambled set list...oh well i guess i should not complain it was passed along for free.
