Has anyone ever been riding a bike or walking down the street while singing a beatle song and someone passes by and you stop singing or whistle instead and feel embarrassed? What do you do when this happens and what song do you generally tend to sing out?

That's a very good question. I do that all the time. If anyone notices, I just look at them and keep on singing or humming. It's not one particular Beatle song. It's usually a medley that I made up in my head--I start with one song (any song) and then will hit a place in it that reminds me of another Beatle song and then go into that and so on and so on. This happens mostly at the grocery store.

One song that I do hum or sing softly a LOT is "Mull of Kintyre".

That happened to a friend and I once. We were walking down the street at an outdoor shopping mall singing "Yellow Submarine." We passed a man who smiled at us, and proceeded to sing along. When you are caught by a fellow Beatle fanatic, the results aren't as awkward! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/clown1.gif

It's happened to me more than once. Did you ever notice people give you odd looks if you whistle "She Loves You" in public? When I was younger, so much younger than today, I actually sang "She Loves You" in my town library. EMBARRASSING! I can identify with the accounts given above. I've had it happen in grocery stores and department stores.

If a fellow fan catches you and joins in, then you've made a friend and have an ally. That's fun.

It just points up the difference in how Beatle fans act and how our counterparts act and respond.

I do it all the time so much it isn't embarassing anymore. In fact I sing lesser known songs by them to get people to ask 'What you singing?'. One of my favs to sing is the German version of either I want to hold your hand or She loves you.

One time I was walking across a bridge one night singing "I Am The Walrus" for about 4 min. when I felt a presence and turned to see two teenage girls walking about 20 ft. behind me giggling at my unintended serenade. They had probablly been behind me the whole time!!! What would one think of a guy who screams "semaleena pilchard climbing up the eiffel tower...." all by himself?

If they were thinking, they'd think, "here's a guy with good taste in music who has obviously been exposed to culture!"

Singing Beatle songs are good for you. Dr. Robert's Rx is to sing and listen to massive doses of Beatles. Expose the world at large to THE WORLD'S NUMBER ONE BAND!
