I hope he is happy too, wherever he is. But I must say one thing. You'd think that he'd have the decency to return an e-mail. I mean, how hard is it? I've sent him a few messages saying everybody missed him and just to see how things were going with him, and I got no reply. No Beatle-pun intended there. The only way I got news was from Nowhere Man, and that's pretty sad. Yeah, yeah, yeah - so he met some chick. But that doesn't mean he had to fall off the end of the world.

It's the bottomless-pit syndrome, I'm afraid. He's fine though and doing good, I can assure you of that. We had a good chat the other night and I let him know that he was sorely missed around here. He did say he'd feel weird posting here after being away for so long though, with all the changes and new people around. I'll see what I can do in whisking him back up from the depths of nothingness.

I have to say, It is gooooooood to be back!! Col should definitely NOT feel weird (no, hang on, his whole persona revolves around Col feeling weird, or at least appearing to.... but I digress!!) about coming back to the forum, it is indeed like coming back home, and nice to hear some new voices.

Oh, you know, the usual, Peace Process, Strikes, Rotten Weather!!!!!!

We had our festival in November if you remember, and although from a Beatles Fan perspective it was a great success, there was as close to a hurricane as Ireland will ever get on that weekend(global warming folks, be warned!) and it ruined us, Dublin doesnt usually get severe weather and just about shut down on the Sunday, which was our biggest gig, so we lost a lot of money, we still owe some of the bands money, which I feel really bad about, and the rest of the committee are so disheartened, they have virtually given up, it is really sad. So that is why I have been absent for so long, my heart wasnt in it. But I am happy to be back, you guys make me feel better even when you are slagging each other and bickering, its just like a marriage really!! BUT I MISS COL!!!!!

Talk away, my dear, talk away... Sounds like you've had it rough, Pat. What a mess! But it'll turn out all right in the end. I'm not sure that 2001 didn't open up as a downer for everyone. God knows 2000 didn't end on such a positive note for me, either, but not as bad as yours seems to have. Mine was more spiritual in nature... my boy would have been 13 in November, and although I wasn't expecting it to, this birthday reached up and boxed my ears, so to speak. Went downhill from there, right on through what was probably the worst birthday I've ever had... Okay, enough blubbering, Sleepy, get a grip...

not to ruin your little fantasy, but i'm going to backtrack a bit… why would col feel weird coming back. thinking back, me best friend (our quite tardy but still incredibly lovely rita) and i have combined for about ten or so month-or-more long absences and have popped right back into things. i was of course, quite perturbed to return to col and nat gone and about a thousand people i didn't know. but most of the classics are still around, even if ol' nat and ol' king col aren't. you know, i was quite surprised to hear that col got a girl; i always thought that he and penny would hook up. but now they're both involved. ahh, the wonderful, confusing, ever-changing flavour of the forums!

I think it's a safe assumption that Colin won't be returning for quite a while. For whatever reasons he has, he must deem it neccesary to do so. We have plenty of members here right now that we shouldn't "harp" on missing one.

I don't know how many topics have been devoted to trying to get him to come back but whoa!!!!! There have been heaps.
If he really is this great guy that is so caring and that you all rate so highly, why does he have to be begged to return? Shouldn't he just be here?
Clearly he has upset a few of you by taking off when you thought you were friends or whatever and I personally don't think that a relationship can be an adequate excuse for hurting the feelings of those that care.
