LONDON — A former Miss Canada finalist has become the first graduate of a Liverpool university's groundbreaking degree program based on analyzing the Beatles' music and their impact on Western culture.

Liverpool Hope University officials believe the master's program offers the first advanced degree based on the life and times of the Fab Four.

Mary-Lu Zahalan-Kennedy joined the program when it started in 2009 and graduated Wednesday. She is one of 12 full-time students of the program -- "The Beatles, Popular Music and Society."....more. I want nothing more than to get that Master's Degree! I'm in the USA trying to get into a graduate program that I'm not nearly as passionate about...hmph. It feels like such a waste.

I think many people here would qualify for a Ph.D in Beatles!

It's a Ph.D, silly! You teach doctoral candidates, and so the cycle continues!

Yeah! You could write a lot of good books, but my dream would be to turn around and teach those courses to others at the university...AND write a lot of good books! lol :D

I bet you could tour giving lectures as well...maybe even meet some incredible people! I can only dream of being a featured guest at Beatlefests across the world, hahaha! *sighs*

:laugh5: Yes, you're right... but it's not any different from a Master's Degree in most non-science fields.

Anyway, we need expert Beatlologists. My hope is that one day they open a Beatles Museum in London (okay, or in Liverpool) and that there are seriously academic curators.

But who taught the professor?

Absolutely. I would love more than anything to be some kind of certified Beatleologist. I'm not claiming to know absolutely everything, but I've been studying all my life! LOL <3
