I got a hold of an unofficial Wilburys DVD with what looks like the videos recorded off TV (you can see the magnetic distortion as is common with VHS's).
However, the versions of the video there are slightly different than the ones on the 2007 box set DVD. Does anybody know anything about this? Id suspect that it might have to do with the widescreen format.
Post up samples when I get them encoded. :)

I'm guessing that since the DVD, besided the band documentary, contained a collection of music videos these are slightly alternate versions of those videos, not unheard to happen. Maybe somebody else has more definite info?

From what I understand the versions on the unofficial DVD were recorded off the TV.

Music videos were originally made for TV so that fits. Somebody could've collected them all together on one VHS/DVD. The official DVD might hold sligthly different takes though. Or the videos differed a little depending on what country they were released in. Or it could be the wide-angle. I'm no expert so can't say.

For the wide angle it appears they cut off the top and bottom. So some of the shots would've come out funny Id think.
