Even though I just detested 1978's "Baker Street," it is sad when somebody dies. R.I.P.

Here's what I could find. Includes the video for Baker Street.
Scottish singer-songwriter Gerry Rafferty, who found fame in the 1970s with hits like Baker Street and Right Down the Line, has died. He was 63.
Rafferty died Tuesday at his home near Bournemouth, England, after a long illness, according to his agent Paul Charles. He had been an alcoholic much of his life and had been hospitalized with liver failure late last year.

Liked the song, especially the sax playing.
I am sure he did more, but he will always be rememberd for that song.

Oh! Thanks for bringing that up—I didn't know who he was at first but I like that song. RIP, Gerry.

I was just about to post in "I Read The News Today". Glad I checked first.
This is sad. "Baker Street" and "Right Down The Line" were a big part of the soundtrack to my childhood.

Yes. I was just reading the article Beatle4 posted and came upon that.
I never knew he was involved with that song also, I always liked that song as well.

When Stuck In The Middle came out in the 70's it was often called Lennonesque. It was/is a song for the ages. I wasn't as crazy about Baker Street but it was a good song too. Sad to hear about his passing.

He did a little bit more than Baker Street which I find one of the not-so-good songs

The Scottish singer-songwriter's death is sad news. RIP. :music2:
I am particularly fond of 'Baker Steet' because it is also the address of the world's greatest fictional detective... Sherlock Holmes!!! :heart1: :teeth1:
