Hi everybody (back here after a long time, but I don't know for how long),

A friend of mine has been to Holland, and has brought me three Beatle-related things. Two LP sleeves and one LP, although nothing matches nothing. One of the sleeves is that of "De mooiste songs", which looks great, but that would have looked even better with the disc inside.

Anyway, my questions deal with the other sleeve and the LP. The sleeve is that of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" (Vigotone 3576-1, with "Sweet Apple Trax 1" written in a circle on its back). The disc that came inside, however, is "Smoking Behind Strawberry Fileds" (Vigotone 3577-1, red vinyl).

I have often heard about the Sweet Apple Trax bootlegs as being great records, but I don't know much about them. Would you please tell me when they were issued? Have they been re-released? Does the disc also belong to that collection? I suppose that having a sleeve and a disc that don't match makes it not much worth, but at least the music will be good, won't it?

Thanks for your answer. I had already visited those two sites (the first one by searching "Vigotone" in Google, and the second one because it's the site I usually go to when trying to find information on some Beatle bootleg. But I haven't been able to find information on the two records I'm interested in, either in vinyl or on CD. The Vigotone site seems to show only a few vinyl relases, and none of them are these two (besides, all of them seem to have catalogue numbers much lower than the two records I'm talking about. As for BootlegZone, there seem to be no bootlegs with the titles I mentioned, and the two bootlegs under the name "Sweet Apple Trax" haven't got anything to do with them (moreover, they're not Vigotone).

There are many vinyl bootlegs released with the title " Sweet Apple Trax" in the 70s.

I think this is the one you have, at least the vinyl.

A link to the other ones in the VigTone series.

The site mentions that these were released in 2009. I haven't heard about these (new) vinyl releases, while I do know there were a bunch of new vinyl releases by the (fake) Swinging Pig label. But that doesn't say all ofcourse. As VigoTone got busted years ago, these are not released by the original VigoTone label. Could be why they aren't on that VigoTone site.

Hi Legs, thanks! I didn't know that site. Yes, the "Smoking..." LP featured there seems to be the the vinyl disc I've got (the catalogue number and tracklist are the same). I've also spotted the sleeve: http://www.discogs.com/Beatles-Lucy-In-The-Sky-With-Diamonds-Sweet-Apple-Trax-1/release/1767021. I see both of them are from 2009, which, as you say, would mean they're not really Vigotone records. I don't know whether the label has been resuscitated, or they are fake bootlegs.

Well bootleg labels are always fake in a way. Doesn't matter if new people brought new live into the VigoTone label, as long as they release good products.

But are these new Vigotone Vinylegs good products.

They look awful and there appears nothing new that I can see.

They are only trying to capitalize on the Vigotone brand. It is about the $$$$ not giving us a good product.
