I know this really concerns none of you personally...but crazy as it sounds I'm beginning to feel an interesting kinship with y'all.
Having said all that....My car has been out of commission since November and I just got it back today!!!!!!
It's got to be an obssession as big as the Beatles with me.
So you can "Imagine" the agony I have been through. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/cry.gif
http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif but it's back with me...and I've already had a slice of heaven because I was able to cruise for about an hour(the drive home) Listening to OUR Fab 4 all the way!!!
That's got to be one of the greatest things....Crusin to the Beatles

Were you cruisin in a Beetle?

Eleanor_rigby
Feb 20, 2001, 03:47 AM
I wish...now wouldn't that be the coolest. Cruisin in a Beetle listening to the Beatles!
Nah it's a Dodge Stratus...If you look at it just right it might look a lil beetlish.

Hey! I'm thinking about getting a Beatle thing on my license, but until then...does anyone have any good ideas on how to add a lil idea of Beatles to my car. Right now when you see it in the parking lot you can tell my obssession with tigers...but I'd like to change that to Beatles.

ANY IDEAS?

What about just a Beatles bumper sticker? I have one on mine, it looks great! Everyone knows it's me, too!

My car has been given the name of the Magical Mystery Mobile and I put these beatle figurines on that little ledge in the back. Get creative buy a Mini Union Jack and write the "The Beatles" in black on it and then hang it from your antena... And of course whenever you drive buy one of those people with the phat sound system blaring DMX or Jay z etc.. Turn up your Beatles music as loud as possible and groove to the music in a manner similiar to the person whose sound system you are competing with. That's a whole ton a fun.

And if you wanna go all out...turn your car into your own replica of Johns psychedelic Rolls Royce.

that's funny,
or you could just get on old VW bus or bug and paint it like the MMT bus or graffiti it with beatles stuff.

or get a liscence plate frame that says something about them, or get a personalized liscence plate!!

i am pretty good, huh?

I bought these little Beatles car-hanging cartoon characters when I was overseas. They were very cool...I guess you all have things like that where you all live but it was a big deal for me being able to buy them because we never have anything like that here. Anyway, they looked great - two on each back window of my little car until one day I noticed John had gone - all that was left of him was the little sucker thing that attached him to the window . I drive with the sun-roof and windows open and I think he took flight out the window.
I was so upset I have since retired the other three. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/cry.gif
They were really nice and they made my car very Beatle. I might try and get a replacement John...I have the shop address somewhere and maybe they will send me a new one.

People often ask me why I don't have them in my car anymore and when I tell them the story, they usually comment on how ironic it is that it happened to be John that left! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/frown.gif

Wherever he is, I hope he is very happy and being treated well...hopefully someone picked him up from the gutter and is giving him a good home. I miss him dearly. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/cry.gif

Poor little John... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/cry.gif Such a sad, sad story. Breaks my heart there's a sweet innocent little John out in this big world somewhere. Hope he has a good home now. Just don't leave your windows down, including your sunroof. (That counts as another window too though.)

Feb 21, 2001, 01:18 PM
Don't worry, John's been a fighter all his life and I'm sure he'd have no trouble getting through on his own. He might even show up in the next Toy Story movie. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Thanks everyone! Some very good ideas!

Jami, never been one for bumperstickers, but the Beatles may be worth it, we'll just have to see.

HeyBeatle, I love your idea....now that I have already done! The phat sound system part. I like the mini Union Jack...hmmm...and going all out sounds fun, but I'm not sure. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Hey Litl Lennon, I have given the License plate thing serious thought...but I already have a car...so the VW part is out. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

Hey Eleanor - if you don't want to make the permanent (sort of) committment of a bumper sticker, try doing what I did - just prop up the bumper sticker in the back window of your car. Mine says "My other car is a..." and has a picture of the Yellow Submarine. Silly, but cute.

Feb 22, 2001, 04:34 AM
Rellevart...where did you get your bumpsersticker? I really like that one. It is the commitment part of bumperstickers that kills me. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

I'd make my own... I've done that with shirts and patches Bumper Stickers would be easier just get Sticky back paper and something to lamenate whatever you put on the front of it.

Speaking of shirts I was thinking of making a shirt that said "Hello my name is.. Polythene Pam" or Rita Meter Maid or soemthing like that. Tell me truthfully it that sounds like a really stupid idea.

I'm quite certain I'm down here, they don't refer to us as the arse-end of the world for nothing. Our toilets also flush the opposite direction to yours, and it all goes down a lot easier. Key word: down.

If we are indeed the arse, I assume all the crap ends up in Antarctica. That also explains the hole in the Ozone layer being there.

WE ARE DOWN. The southest city in the world is located in Chile (Punta Arenas). There is also a small port (Puerto Toro) which is even near to the Pole... And not to count the Antarctica, which indeed has the Ozone hole, and it is affecting to everyone. My accent always gets confused as an Australian one....either that or an English one. That, of course, is to the untrained ear. We Kiwis seem to have this illusion (as it very well may be) that our accents are better than Australian ones. I personally think they both are rather terrible and I am terribly self-conscious of mine!

I guess i have an american accent, but it isn't like the "howdy pardner" thing most people think you have if you live out west in oregon or something.
i guess my accent is more like a "pacific" one. which, i didn't even know there was one.

i don't have the new york, rosie o' donnel accent either, or the bayou one. it's kinda hard to explain.

i think that the british accent is the coolest, they have the hottest guys there too.

Accents accents accents.... I love them! I love to make people with them talk to me! You see I was once told by someone with an accent that the people where I come from do not have accents... I do not understand how that could be so, but I can't hear one when my family or I talk and so maybe it's true...or maybe we just have an amazingly boring way to talk...but I love to listen to others. We call felt pens felt pens! Texters is another name, though they'd be more closley related to nikkos, those thicker pens. I'm not even sure if this topic had anything to do with the Beatles to begin with, so I think we're safe.
