The song's stuck in me head now. "Oh, I'd like to be a pirate, a pirate's life for me..."

George took this Lennon composition and made it his own! George ROCKED on this one and it remains one of my favorites to this day!

Who doesn't like a bit of Pirate Bob!
I noticed recently that the lyrics to this song are in his autobiogrphy "I, Me, Mine".

Well, my history teacher. He said George is useless to the Beatles. But never mind. George was awesome.

Your history teacher is an idiot, and you can tell him I said so. That should shut the bugger up.

Kay, I think your teacher is a grade A fool, the only place he made the grade!

You're all so nice. :-)
George is the type of Beatle, I think, who is 100 times more funny than the other Beatles because he's usually shy so we don't expect him to be funny sometimes. But he is (funny).

Why do so many people assume that because George didn't produce as many songs as the Lennon/McCartney partnership, and that his work was completely different to theirs, that he was somehow inferior to them? The Beatles were as much about personality as they were about music. The Beatles wouldn't have been the Beatles without George even if he never wrote his own songs, just as Ringo was an essential part of the band despite his meagre songwriting output.

Oh yeah. My teacher also said Ringo was a bad drummer.
But really, George was AMAZING. "Something," for instance, has to be the most beautiful song in the world. Underrated songs like "Only a Northern Song" are cool, too. One of my classmates, who heard my teacher's rant, actually told me that GEORGE and John are his favorites.

I think "Here Comes the Sun" was one of the most beautiful songs EVER recorded. "It's All Too Much" and "Long, Long, Long" are underrated and sadly don't get much notice.
Your classmate has good taste and is culture savvy, but your teacher sounds as if he's been raised in a cave with insufficient exposure to haute couture. Darn shame.

"It's All Too Much" is right now my favorite song that I don't have on my iPod. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Christmas.
"Old Brown Shoe" is also a favorite of mine that I luckily have on my iPod.
