Hi
My name is Cathy (duh) and my husband, Brian and I are beatlemaniacs- we just got our very first computer in our advanced age (ha ha) . This is my first time in any kind of internet place like this . I thougt that the Beatles would be a good place to start.
Well, any advice or comments would be appreciated! Please remember, always be nice to the ' new kid on the block' or internet site or whatever and whenever!!
See you
Cathy G.

Hello Cathy, I will be the first one to say hello to you. Welcome to Beatlelinks.net, it's a great place to be and to talk about The Beatles. Well, mainly, because the discussions can take you to places you would never imagine... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif
And although some people pretend to be rude or ironic, I've learned recently (through a couple of "fights" I had here) that we're all one, and we have to accept when people are joking, and that they're not always trying to laugh at you or at your mistakes. (So don't take EVERY post so seriously) http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif
I was very well-received when I first joined in (about two weeks ago) and I've had great times while I've been here. I'm 18, and I don't speak English (believe it or not, it's hard to me to post these LONG messages and to express myself correctly, so your corrections will be always welcomed), because I'm from Chile in South America. That's why it feels good to give warm welcomings to the new fans. (Even though you're older than me http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif).
I hope you will enjoy the show.

Hello, Cathy! Welcome to Beatlelinks. You couldn't have pick a better site on the Internet than this one.
All Beatle fans are welcomed here and they come from many places, as darkhorse stated. I think we have members from 5 continents right now. Enjoy your visits here and look forward to see what you have to cotribute to our "little family".

Well, I'm really thrilled to have my first contacts on the internet and especially on the Beatles Meeting Place.
Thank you Darkhorse and Bearkat77 for making me feel at home! I think it's great that the 'young people' like darkhorse http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif have such good taste in music. It goes to show that the Beatles music is truly timeless and crosses age & language barriers and really has brought people together.
Again , thanks for the welcome! You've certainly put a big smile on my face! Be patient with me though because I don't understand so much of the computer jargon.
See you later !
Peace! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Really not much computer jargon to worry able here, just discussions on and about the Beatles. As you stated "the young people", I'm glad they enjoy the Beatles too. Being in my 40s, I've been passing on their music to my daughters. They really enjoy hearing their songs and watching the videos.

Thank you for saying that. Not too many people says that to me a lot, you know? http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif My friends listen to other kinds of music. Don't worry about the computer "jargon". It's all about sharing here.

Don't feel bad, darkhorse...I think you'll find that even some of us "older" people can relate to what you're going through with your friends. I was in high school in the 1980s, and took some grief from my classmates for loving such "old fashioned" groups as the Beatles, the Who, and the Stones. Luckily my best friends were (still are) total Beatlemaniacs too...though not all of them understood why I was also into punk and New Wave! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif
I think it's great that so many of the fans in here are "younger." It gives me hope for the future of the planet. :-)

Welcome, Cathy G. I've been here for quite some time and I'm about as computer illiterate as they come. It doesn't matter. If you can read, you'll get along just fine, believe me. I do!

Sharing my thoughts in places like this makes me feel good, and united to people like you and almost everybody else here, who love The Beatles as much as me. And that's the important thing: the future of the planet. We're not here to listen to Britney Spears or Backstreet Boys till the year 3000!
Thank you for making me feel good! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif I think we'll be good friends. Keep posting!

And by "good friends", I mean both of you: Cathy G and #9 Dream. Sorry if that wasn't clear enough. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Welcome Cathy! And don't worry about not being a technology wizard - this site is pretty user-friendly! I don't even have a computer at home (I do this on my lunch hours!) and I figured it out! Hope you enjoy!
PS - and Darkhorse - don't worry so much about your English - I think it's quite good! You're actually more eloquent than many native speakers!
