It's wonderful to be here, it's certainly a thrill...bet I'm not the first one to use that line, eh?
I'm new to this forum, so I wanted to introduce myself. I'm a lifetime fan of the Fabs...have been since before I can remember (have to thank my big sis for that)...I was but a wee lass of 4 when they broke up, but I do have vivid memories of lying on my sister's bedroom floor, listening to "Abbey Road" and just studying the album cover. (She tells me John was my favorite even way back then. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif)
I want to take this opportunity to say how much these four men have meant to me in my life. It may sound melodramatic, but they've helped me through some of the worst periods of my life. They've made me smile, kept me sane, and provided comfort during my darkest hours. They're helping me keep it together now as I'm dealing with a terminally ill parent. They may have been "just a band who made it very, very big," but they've meant the world to me. Thanks, lads.
Well, I don't want to hog too much bandwidth on my first post; suffice it to say that I'm looking forward to sharing the love with all of you wonderful Beatle People.
Peace!

Hey there Dream, and welcome to Beatlelinks! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif You can sure call this place home too, we'll help you out with anything you need just as much as the boys have I'm sure. Glad to see their music has inspired you and lifted you to another level when you really needed to pull through. The same applies to each and every one of us here!

I feel the same way about The Beatles. They might be "just a band", but to me, they are much more than that. You couldn't have expressed it better, and I don't think it's melodramatic as you said, I think your feelings are authentic and deep.
Anyway, welcome to this site http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif People may be rude, people may be making fun of you (specially when you make mistakes), but, as FPSHOT says, "we're all Apple Scruffs" http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif. So enjoy your staying, and keep posting with the same emotion and enthusiasm.
(P.S.: "#9 Dream" is one of the greatest songs that John Lennon made, in my very personal opinion. That's a great nickname you have http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif.)

Well, I finally double-posted. That's the only mistake I haven't made until now.
You must know that things like that happen.
(And you can feel very embarrased about them! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/blush.gif)

Hello, #9 Dream. You will love it here. Many of the Beatles' works have inspired just about everyone on earth, myself included. Their solo works are equally inspiring. Every now and then, people need guidance in they lifes and they helped provide that through their songs.
Some that helped me through rough times are "Let It Be", "Imagine", "We Can Work It Out", "With A Little Luck" and "Help!" I could go on with more, but I do have to sleep sometime.

I guess "I'm So Tired" and "Goodnight" come into play here.
And when you awaken it'll be a very "Good Morning Good Morning". http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Not at all! I'm sure many of us that hang out around here feel the same! I know I do.
Welcome. I hope you have fun http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

I think that most will agree that the Beatle's music is pretty universal, so there is nothing wrong with using their work as something proviiding comfort, happiness, peace, or just good music. Also, there are so many songs that there is a piece for nearly every emotion, predicament, or situation.

Not to mention "I'm Only Sleeping"! I've been listening to that one over and over lately for some reason...must be my mood I guess! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif
Ta, everyone, for the warm welcome. I feel right at home already...and in case you haven't yet noticed, I have a tendency to be really verbose. Sorry! Must be that pesky Gemini rising. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/blush.gif

Dream,
It's nice to be in forum where not only ARE people verbose, but they actually use the word, use it correctly and know how to spell it as well! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Hello, welcome and yes to all you said.
This band have been the rock of my life for many years, plus the fact that all of my best freinds are people that I have met through the Beatles Ireland Fan Club, not just form Ireland, but from all over the world. I refer to caring loving people as 'Beatle People' and all my freinds instantly know what I mean.
I really hope that the Fabs are able to help you with your current trials, and if any of us can, even if it is only to be a listening post, fire away, we are here.
Your verbosity is a trend to be welcomed and encouraged in my opinion, but then I do tend to witter on a bit myself, as you can see!. From whence do you hail? Let us know a little about you. Looking forward to your contribution a great deal.

and in the end........

You wouldn't. Corrections to my weak English are always welcomed. But you're still quoting! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

I have lived most of 34 years in and around Phoenix, Arizona, so I guess I'm just a desert flower! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif I was born in Minnesota, so I went from one extreme to the other. I lived for a couple of years in New York City, a place I adore and will always consider home. (I lived only 14 blocks--roughly 1/2 mile--from the Dakota. I could never walk by it without a sick feeling, as I'm sure you all can appreciate! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/frown.gif )I moved back to AZ about 5 years ago for family reasons, and will probably be packing up and moving somewhere else this summer, for grad school in psychology and law.
Obviously, I love the Beatles, but I'm also big on Pink Floyd, the Who, and U2. I enjoy almost every kind of music, so you might find just about anything in my CD player.
I love to travel, and am hoping to take two weeks this summer to visit the UK again...plans are to spend a week in London, 3 nights in Dublin, and of course not forgetting Liverpool! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif I'm very blessed to have friends from all over, thanks to various internet fandoms. I don't care what anyone says, you can meet the best people on-line; I think this forum is a prime example!
Well, words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup again, so I'll leave you with that.
Peace!
