View Full Version : Non-Beatles Music

Since we are all here (270 people), I assume that you all are Beatle fans http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif. Me too, of course. But there are some times when you listen to other kind of music.
My personal musical tastes are not as "actual" as the ones from the people of my age (or even the people of my country!). When I'm not listening to The Beatles or their solo output, I listen to old bands, like Queen, Pink Floyd, Abba (yes, I like Abba. I don't know what you'd think, but sometimes you need to hear meaningless lyrics), Fleetwood Mac (specially Stevie Nicks, and specially her interpretation of "Silver Springs"), The Eagles and Led Zeppelin. As for the newer bands, I like some stuff from Oasis (particularly the "Morning Glory" album), Radiohead, Lenny Kravitz and only a few others.
It would be interesting that you would also make small lists of the bands you like (or the music styles you like, or the songs you like, whatever).
(And please, you are not allowed to name the following bands: The Quarrymen, The Silver Beetles, Johnny & The Moondogs, The Nerk Twins, Wings, The Plastic Ono Band, The Plastic Ono Elephants Memory Band, The Flux Fiddlers, The Roundheds, The Travelling Wilburys, Ringo Starr And His All-Starr Band, or whatever that is Beatles-related).

If you look back in this forum, you'd find that this topic was brought up some time ago. Just go to the this forum's page and near the bottom click the window that shows posts. From the drop down options, click "All Posts" and then you'd be able to find it.
Anyway, some of the other acts I listen to are mainly oldies, basically from the '50s to the early '80s. If you can't find that topic, I'll post my picks later.

Jami : I forgot you and 'Kat are from the same area. What's that Louisiana state motto : "Union, Justice, and Confidence". Anyway, getting back to the topic, I bet Huey P. Long wouldn't allow Non-Beatles music.. (:

OK, OK! I didn't realize what I did until now. Sorry for not spelling your name right, darkhorse. Though I reside in Louisiana, I don't think I have that southern slang. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

Topic found. End of discussion. I should have known that just saying something that was ALREADY said could start World War III.
Anyway, I made a mistake. But I didn't diserve a name changing! Darkhore? What's that? http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

Sorry about that, darkhorse. It was just a typo on my part and someone decided to jump on it. I'll be more careful when I'm typing.

If a Beatles CD isn't playing in my player it's got to be The Who, Pink Floyd, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, stuff like that, I really like Pink Floyd. My Dad got me started on them with The Wall. So I went out and got it, that and Dark Side of The Moon. Both are very good.

Some people didn't seem to understand what you said, dear bearkat77, because they are still replying to this topic, so won't you (or somebody, I don't know who the moderator is here http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif) close this one and keep the "Other Bands We Love" topic opened. That way we wouldn't have two topics about the same thing...
