Everyone can moan, but I must tell this story: Today, I handed my daughter (2) an old Beatles trading card. I thought I heard her say "Thats my Beatles card" and so I asked her "Who are they"? She says "Thats the Beatles!" I can only surmise she recognizes them from the "1" TV commercial. She sings along to "She Loves You" every time! There, I'm done.

What a fine and wonderful example you're setting for your daughter. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

At some point, when you showed my best friend's 2 year old a pic of the Beatles and asked who it was, he'd get very excited and say "YELLOW SUBMARINE!!!!!!" because that's where he knew them from. Or the same friend's (now) 5 year old who used to call them "Beatlefest" because we took her each year! Way beyond cute! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Love the kid stories! We need to keep the younger generation well informed. At the 2000 Beatlesfest, I was holding my two year old when someone pointed to a Paul pin that I was wearing and asked my son, "Who's that?" He looked at the pin and yelled out, "Daddy!" I can only wish! No offense to my husband, of course.

I have a 3 year old friend. His sister seems to be a Beatle fan, so he recognizes some pictures ("John Lenno", he says), and sings along to "Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da". When asked what he's singing, he answers: "Los Blitles". I think that's a very good Beatles beginning, specially in a not-English-speaking country like Chile. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif
That's really great to see, everybody's Beatle-crazy! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif

Actually, some call it Beatleism. I like to think of myself as a Beatleologist. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

Me and my friend try to teach her little sister Beatles trivia. With proper training she can become a walking Beatles encyclopedia.

I guess it could also be called Beatleology then. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif
On that note, I hear a lot of uni courses both in the US and UK actually cover the Beatles, and all their music, etc. And there's a Lennonology cousre too, if I'm not mistaken!

A couple of weeks ago, my son who is in first grade had to write sentences for his spelling words. One of the words was by.
His sentence? My favorite CD is by The Beatles.

My nearly-two-year-old son points at my Beatles magnet on my fridge and says da-da to each of them!Thank goodness my honey never heard it; I drive him crazy with my never-ending adoration of Paul.....

I,m so glad I started something nice this time on the forum! Some people seem to not like my postings... Anywhat, it's nice this new generation wont grow up thinking the Fabs are the Monkees. Not that theres anything wrong with that...

They even offer a course at my little university in Wellington on The Beatles. It's called Western Music since 1950. Of course by the time they offered it, I already had too many BA points. Typical. I never seem to study anything I'm interetsed in!
The closest subject we have that covers the Beatles is a music one named From Elvis To Madonna, which looks at the main trends in popular music from the mid-1950s to the present day. As tempting as it sounded, I tended to stick to the English subjects.
