This question follows the resale of the entire remastered collection of Beatle albums.
Additional Details
non English speaking critics have reviewed it as having been a rapidly thrown together album that rests in the shade of "A Hard Day's Night".
Oh, anyone
who only has one Beatle album shouldn't be making comments, let alone answering this question.

Edvado, it's not at all like asking about chocolate for me, I hate chocolate.
You have cancelled out your otherwise good answer.

Welcome to BeatleLinks
I do not believe there is anyone here who has only one Beatles album.
"Not English speaking critics" - do they exist???? Everyone with a computer speaks English? Even the Americans do it :wave1: (kidding)
"Rapidly thrown together" is a familiar review of that album if you want to be critical but you don't have to? There are amazing songs on it. Only silly questions like "What is the worst Beatles album" create those comments when someone makes a choice but I love the album and remember when it was released and how my life was like then, it combines memories.
What/who is Edvado?

Only silly questions like "What is the worst Beatles album" create those comments when someone makes a choiceExactly. The answer depends on how one asks the question. Besides, when contemplating their busy 1964 schedule, any album recorded during that time would have to be rapidly thrown together. There was no time for anything else.

if the beatles hadn't just released the atomic bomb which was AHDN, you'd be onto something.

Seriously, under the conditions they were working in, the astonishing feat is to have put out such a great album as A Hard Days Night, rather than the 'thrown together' nature of Beatles For Sale.

I love "Beatles for Sale." It has some of my favorite harmony singing on it. I can see how someone could argue that it doesn't contain as much sheer awesomeness as, say, "Sgt Pepper" or "Abbey Road," but it still has a lot going for it ... and I still like it a lot better than "Magical Mystery Tour." Heh.

I think the critics who make such a bogus claim just haven't listened to the album.

Hmmm...I havent heard the word Worst to describe it that much. I've heard the word Weakest more often. That doesnt necessarily mean its bad. And like its been mentioned the album as a whole isnt like Pepper or Revolver or Abbey Road or some of the others.

Beatles for Sale is the weakest album by a long way

There are a lot of pretty good songs on it... such as "I'm a Loser", "Eight Days a Week", "Words of Love", "Everybody's Trying to be my Baby" and especially "I'll Follow the Sun"... but overall I'd have to agree compared with the rest of The Beatles catalogue, it's closer to the bottom than the top... but since we're talking Beatles music here, that still makes it a pretty good package!

I loved Beatles for Sale, we couldn't wait to hear the next album and see what it was like. What better present for Christmas in 1965 from my new boyfriend could I have!

Beatles for Sale is the weakest album by a long wayYeah, that original Yellow Submarine album with one side of George Martin is SOOO much better than Beatles for Sale, isn't it?
Ironic.
Beatles for Sale is much better than A Hard Day's Night, which is very over-rated.

Yellow Sub is not really considered to be an "album."
That said, I think "For Sale" is rated worst because of the amount of "cover" or non-original songs. Something has to be called "the worst." (Again) That said, the Beatles "worst" is better than most bands' "best."

I love most of the the album, but can understand that when 'critics' face it and hear No Reply, I'm A Loser and Baby's In Black, Oh What Can I Do, I Don't Wanna Spoil The Party So I Will Go, it's not really creating an atmosphere which makes one feel like "Yeah baby, what a great day, Let The Sunshine In"

Actually, Beatles VI is a bit worse than this one. It was sort of their bland monotonous phase as they were transitioning from their black and white mop-top days to their colorful mod rocker/psychedelic phase. Help! was a knock at the door to this new "Oz-like' world while Rubber Soul was the turn of the doorknob.

It is not just that particular release, it is that entire period from late 64' to late 65' which would include Beatles For Sale and Beatles 65 which I was never really impressed with overall. Not to say that nothing good was to come out of this period, singles such as "I Feel Fine" and "Eight Days A Week" are especially great, but it was probably their most lackluster era. But it was nevertheless, a needful transition from their mop-top days which led to something more progressive.

I think one couple of those reasons was the intense schedule the Beatles had during that era, filming two movies and the constant touring, TV appearances, etc. certainly took valuable time from the creative writing and recording process. This I'm sure was a factor in all of the non-original songs that appeared during this time.

Because the others are better, LOL.
I personally think With the Beatles is the worst one, which does not mean it's a bad album. Not at all.

Simple. Critics say that because they have not listened to the album/CD.
