Hello! I just registered, so I'd like to know how many people are out there. I'm 17, I'm from Chile (so my English may not be very accurate some times), and I'd like to know how does this Discussion Forum work. It's really hard for me to actually *find* Beatle fans of my age here in my country, so I hope I can find them here!

Thank you. The "Fool On The Hill" thing and the stars are for the new-ones here, right? I hope I can get that nickname off some day. I also hope to find nice people out here. But now, I'm gonna have to go to bed (it's a little late here in this side of the world!)

Welcome darkhorse, join the party! Don't worry about the nickname, we're all silly fools in some way or another http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif It'll change anyways once you have a few posts under your belt.

Yeah you only have to post 101 times before your title changes, mine just changed today. Now it's only about 100 more before I'm a blue meanie, yippee.
Don't worry about your english, for most of us it is our first language and we're yet to master it.

Welcome to Beatlelinks, darkhorse! I do believe you are the first member here from Chile. As you can tell by the stars for each member, the more posts you make, the more stars you get. Keep happy and keep posting.

Darkhorse : Welcome to the BeatleLinks website. You will find many new friends here at all various age groups. By the way darkhorse, where about are you located in Chile...? Northern part of the country, Arica.? How about the central part of Caldera, Valparaiso, or the capital of Santiago..? Are we so lucky to say you're from the region of southern Punta Arenas near the Falkland Islands..? Anyway, a big welcome from the Denver, Colorado USA area. Take Care,
Glen V.

Thanks. You're great. By the way, Glen V, how come you know so much about Chile? Have you ever been here? Because, you know, we're not a very big (or a very well-known) country.

"In the town where I was born..."
Of course you're well-known! Marcelo Salas, Marcelo Rios, etc. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif
...General Pinochet even. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

My God! If you ever name that old assasin again, I'm going to have to quit this site! (And I don't want to, because I love it!)

I'm sorry, do forgive me. I will NEVER name General Pinochet again. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

OK, just joking. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif We have some kind of "trauma" here with that man. I think the country's divided because of him. But you're forgiven.

Thanks a lot, you guys are great, thank you. Your welcoming was astonishing and amazing. Well, I'm back. First of all, let me correct myself (or should I say: "help me to help myself"?). I guess the picture that appears next to all my messages should be the "Dark Horse" LP cover, right? I didn't think about that when I registered, so I'm changing it today. By the way, FPSHOT, yes, you're right. Hari's my favorite Beatle too. Second, I'm not 17! I'm 18. My birthday was on October 25th, so I shouldn't be confused. I don't know what exactly happened to me last night. I guess I was thinking about something else...
And for those interested to know where in the world am I, I live in the second city of Chile, Concepcion, which is very close to the sea (in fact, I live in a port next to Concepcion, called Talcahuano). This is located in the southern part of the country, but closer to the center than Punta Arenas! I have to travel by plane to get there. The main advantage of Chile is that, being a country that's so long and narrow (we say it's the longest and narrowest in the world, we don't care if that's true!), you can enjoy, practically at the same time, the view of the Andes and the Pacific Ocean. The bad part is that, being so far from the rest of the world, we DON'T GET ENOUGH BEATLES in our record stores (specially the solo albums, for instance the reissued "Plastic Ono Band" hasn't arrived here yet!). But I guess we are Beatlemaniacs here too: the "1" CD has been the biggest-selling album on the country since December 10th.
Well, I'm starting to talk too much. But that's because I'm having fun. Thank you again for your greetings. And I'd be very happy if you tell me when I make mistakes because of my weak English. I'm just learning, and that's the only way to learn.
