Oh wow! that was fab!
http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif
at the beginning of the program
(please excuse all typos)
the symphony played a medley of beatles songs, hard day's night, michelle, all my loving, etc.
then the guys who were singing the beatles songs came out, oh my gosh they looked like them! if i didn't know it really wasn't them i probably would never have known! goerge was skinny and tall and had skinny legs, paul had that cute paulie face, ringo had a large nose, and john had nose and features of john! it was amazing the resemblence between them and the beatles.
the first song they played was 'got to get you into my life', and boy did they sound like the beatles when they sang!
i screamed my head off like any other girl that was at a beatles concert in the sixties, it was totally groovy!
they mostly did sgt. pepper era songs, and they sang 'i am the walrus' i was the only one cheering and screaming really loud at the end too, the people behind us siad 'yuck' at the "yellow matter custard, dripping from a dead dog's eye part."

i wish we had brought binoculars and a camera, even though we had really good seats, it would be cool to see up close.

i have to go to class now, so i'll s\finish telling about it tonigt.

Love,
Chey Lennon

Happy you enjoyed it, LtlLennon. Sounds like a lot of preparation went into the performance.

ok, now i'll finish telling about the concert

the first song the beatles tribute band played was 'Got to get you into my life.'
then "A Hard Day's Night." follwed by "I saw her standing there."
when they came out they were wearing the "beatle outfits"
after those three numbers they had sgt. pepper jackets, and after the psychedelic songs they had different coloered shirts and vests.
the whole thing was over 2 hours long!
I think that was the most exciting thing i have ever been to in my life! it was fab!
litlringo and i had the time of our lives...
the george look-alike sang here comes the sun and something, oh my gosh he sounded soooooo much like george!
the only bad thing was that the programs were really crappy, they didn't even list the songs they played or had pictures of the beatle look-alike guys.
fortunatley i remembered all the songs, and i wrote them down on a piece of paper.

on the other hand, it was a GREAT concert.

that is all my fellow beatlemaniacs, any comments?

luv, chey lennon

Sound like you and sis had the times of your life. Wish I could have been there. Sounds almost like the group Beatlemania, that I saw a couple of years ago.

yes, Litl Lennon, it is great to hear live Beatles' music. You are lucky to have been there. Kat, I recently saw Beatlemania Now, (which post got lost in the weird goings on a few weeks ago)which I believe is the same group. Gotta love live Beatles music.

Yes, I enjoyed the show. I saw them a few weeks ago at the Stone Pony (club famous for being Bruce Springsteen's old stomping grounds) in Asbury Park, NJ.

I saw Beatlemania a couple of years ago at the Strand Theater. Sleepy and I had front row seats and I even wore my Beatles jacket.
My favorite part was when "John" came on stage after the Pepper segment and did "Imagine". It was unbelievable how close to the original version he did it.
If they ever come back, you can bet I'll be there also.

I love these bootleg bands who know how to deal with the Beatles songs in a professional way.

On the day of the '1' release we had a band on TV who was a mix of different Dutch bands, like the Golden Earring (Radar Love) and they told how difficult e.g. the drum parts on some songs are, not to mention the funny chords.

Glad you liked it.

They didn't do Imagine when I saw them.
The highlights for me were I'm A Loser (the John guy played harp), and Penny Lane with a synthesizer doing the horn parts. Good energy on those especially.
