I read the list re 'most disliked song' with interest and wondered if perhaps people were becoming a little touchy without real cause. Personally speaking, I really love a good strong exchange of views where the other person and I respect each others right to agree or disagree. I feel that if we are mature fans, that within a fan 'club' environment, we should be able to discuss any topic without 'falling out' We should be mature enough to be able to take someone else's viewpoint on board without sulking about it, if not, then I am not at all sure I want to play anymore! Discuss........!

exactly!! that's what we are here for, isn't it? it's nice to see other people's point of view, who's knows we might learn something! nobody is going to agree on everything, that makes it interesting.

well what are you going to do about it? you could just sit here and sulk...OR you could start a new topic entitled "THE UNCLOSEABLE TOPIC" and start talking again. oh, did everybody hear? sorry if i digress, but natalie is performing her play tomorrow and the two days following! let us all congratulate her and wish her luck.

Thanks for the replies, but I find it quite interesting that so few members did actually reply. What about those of you have have not so far replied? Does anyone have a problem with a frank exchange of views? As co-moderator of the meeting place, I would much rather that the discussions continued, and that Jerry did not feel he had to close a link, it makes me look unable to moderate. I feel very much that we should be able to tolerate other views, we dont have to like them, but if we would continue with a discussion, we have to be able to agree to disagree on occasion. For example, I have very strong misgivings about the whole Yoko thing, I instinctively do not like what I know of her, but other people are of a different opinion, so be it, other opinions are aevery bit as valid as are mine, that is what makes a 'discussion'
Over to you, and all those who did reply get an 'A' plus in the exam!

There's nothing wrong with disagreeing as long as insults aren't slung at one another. I've noticed that some people get really upset when something negative is said of Yoko, or the Beatles drug use is mentioned. We all hold a high regard for them, warts and all, and should be able to discuss.

an "a+"?! well that'll certainly bring my gpa up. and yeah, if there were no controversy, there would be no debates, and everybody loves debates. except the ones where i blow up over little things and make a complete ass of myself. but that's another story... in another forum.

I'm sorry I didnt reply right away, it's just that this is the 1st time I have been able to go on beatlelinks in a while. I think that we should be able to discuss topics about songs we dislike, but when insults begin to be thrown, and nasty words are spoken, that's where I draw the line. This is not a place where we insult each other because of our different opinions on songs. We are supposed to discuss them and realize that people are allowed to have their opinions, and that there is no one right answer. If you dont like topics about songs you dislike, then don't post anything in that topic. My personal opinion is that there are no bad beatles songs, just ones that aren't as good as others. Keep the peace!

Hey, Pat! I agree with each and every thing you say. Just like me not to notice this topic earlier.
If there has to be an exchange of ideas, we should allow all sorts of things to enter our heads. In fact, I think disagreement is very enjoyable. No reason why anything here should be taken personally.

Well done everyone, I have been away convention organising for a while, so havent logged on recently. Good to hear that so many of you are willing to particiapte in debates rather than slagging matches.
Of course, this does not meant that Len-Mac and Harb have to stop being so funny, or any one else, just as long as no-one out there takes them too seriously, and realises that they are the re-incarnation of John's humour!
Love you all.
