I just got AIM for my computer (at last). My username is Harb83. Does anyone else have AIM? What's ya usernames?

There's something I should warn you lot about...

I've just had a visit from someone who called himself GomezDevil. This is what the conversation went like...

Gomez:Hello
Mikel:Who is this?
Gomez:Bad move, now I'm gonna delete your files.
Mikel:This is Colin isn't it?
Gomez:Who?
Mikel:Then who is this?
Gomez:I'm a hacker...

Then a warning bar at the bottom of the computer kicked in and it started to rise from 0% quickly. I quickly shut everything down and have kept AIM offline for now.

Has this happened to anyone else here?

Harb, lol, the warning thing isn't a virus or anything. If you get warned up to 100% you can't use aim for a while. They can't hack into your system unless you download a virus. So don't click any unknown links or download anything from anybody you don't know.

I was talking with one of my friends and he was being a jerk so I kept warning him and then I e-mailed him and said hey im me for a sec, I don't think my ims are working lmao and he did and I warned him again and he couldn't use aim anymore so he had to switch sns. It was one of those days in the summer when you're so bored you will do anything.

Don't use AIM meself... don't want anything to do with AOL, their software pretty much acts like an overbearing grandmother, and keeps you from doing a lot of stuff.

Matter of fact, my friend was being annoyed by an AIM stalker, she wasn't using it for anyone else, and deleted it. Well, in spite of the fact that she only had the AIM, and not AOL, when she deleted the AIM it wiped out her ISP software as well! It had sat on top of some of the crucial files, and when it was deleted took her completely offline...

AOL has its ups and downs. On one hand, it is simple and fairly user friendly. On the other hand, it CAN prevent you from doing a lot of stuff, and one can get kicked off pretty often. I don't believe this!! I thought that all the crazy arguing was over and here we are with more threats and petty behaviour.

Erica, from what I have read, I wouldn't say that Jami "totally blew up" - I believe she was doing her job as a moderator. Can't you see that? It wouldn't have been anything personal at you. There is no need to have multiple topics devoted to one subject so she did the sensible thing in giving you directions to this one and closing the others. Do you really think that if she wanted to do something mean to you, it would be that? I think she has a bit more maturity that that!

Don't take this the wrong way but settle down.
I know that I, for one, have had enough of the negative stuff in here. It never used to be this way.

not to make anything worse, but yeah, erica is my sis and she is pretty immature a lot of the time. it is a fact of life, at her age... (11) kids are just discovering some things and they are a bit giggly and nervous.
also,
its not a big thing, but if people obsess over it and keep reminding people about it it will be a big thing. i don't even think of it as something big like what some of the little things are created into here. it is a very minor thing, if you aske me. so take that advice, it proves I'M not immature!!

There's something I should warn you lot about...

I've just had a visit from someone who called himself GomezDevil. This is what the conversation went like...

Gomez:Hello
Mikel:Who is this?
Gomez:Bad move, now I'm gonna delete your files.
Mikel:This is Colin isn't it?
Gomez:Who?
Mikel:Then who is this?
Gomez:I'm a hacker...

Then a warning bar at the bottom of the computer kicked in and it started to rise from 0% quickly. I quickly shut everything down and have kept AIM offline for now.
