This one came to me when I heard the Steve Martin version of Maxwells Silver Hammer. I began to wonder what other members thought of as their favourite covers (or if they hate anyone that does one) so lets hear them. If your wondering, mine has to be the Jim Carry version of I Am The Walrus.

Cliff Bennett singing, 'Got to Get You Into My Life' was pretty darn fine. The single of it was released the same day as Revolver!

Moose, go to the Songs and Albums Forum and you'll find this topic there. Several members have already posted to it. the title of the topic is "Who does a better cover?"
BTW, my favorite is Aerosmith's version of "Come Together".

Thanks for the help there Bearkat, I'm kinda new at this and can always use it. Great choice too though I prefer the version Robin Williams and Bobby McFerrin did for George Martin's album "In My Life".

Destruction leads to a very rough rough road but it also breeds creation & earthquakes are to a girls guitar there just another good vibration & tidal waves couldnt save the world from californication.

It wasn't that bad. In fact if I remember right, it was the only song on the Sgt. Pepper soundtrack to make it anywhere good in the charts.

I think it was John, who said that Aerosmith's cover was the closest to the original version. On another sountrack, All This And WWII, Tina Turner does a pretty good version of "Come Together", as well.

I don't like anyone covering Beatles or John songs. They tend to ruin it for me. I honestly have never heard a version of a Beatles song that I liked. I guess I am spoiled! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif But I do think the Beatles did a better cover of the songs they did cover.
