Hard to imagine it has been so long! Here's a great interview from George discussing the concert. The sync is a little off in the video, but it is still enjoyable. Recorded August 1, 1991.

Maybe we can celebrate Bangla Desh a little on this thread. Feel free to post songs you love and interviews, thoughts, pictures, anything... :)

One of my all time favorite George songs, always been since I heard it the first time as a child. I still can't understand how it was left off that retrospect over George's solo career. Here it is anyway, from the concert for Bangladesh, of course!

I agree, hib. Not at all sure why Bangla Desh seems to be overlooked sometimes. It's such a great song and a real rocker with an important message. Just great on all levels.

Here's another~

There were lots of other artists at the concert too. Here's Bob Dylan singing Blowin' In The Wind with George on backing guitar. Particularly suitable choice when considering the lyrics

Yes, ’n’ how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, ’n’ how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?

And here's a cute clip from the concert rehearsal with George and Bob singing duet to Bob's If Not For You. Note that George knows the lyrics better than Bob! :teeth1:
