hi this is david, you might not know me but that's okay! my older brother has been listening to the beatles since he was 12 and has got me into them after hours of being shackled in a dark closet in my basement with headphones duct taped to my head. so, now that you know my beatles background you know understand how i got to this point in listening to beatles and trying to comprehend eppy's memorobelia about the beatles. most of it i don't really understand but that's okay, and the wizard of oz and charlie and the chocolate factory are the best movies! especially the ommpa lommpas because i played one in third grade! wahahaha! now, i must leave, but before i do "i have a story for you...ommpa lommpa dompidi doo, i've got another story for you!" until next time, when i might have the advantage, whahahahahahaha!

"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"? I know that the little boy in the movie is named Charlie, but I've always known that movie to be called "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory".

No, the film title was changed to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, but the book was originally called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/shocked.gif Is that the David I know, Eppy? Have him register.

P.S. David really DOES resemble an oompa loompa, if you were wondering! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

You mean orange with green hair with a fetish for short verse songs with nonsense lyrics?

I thought their songs made perfect sense. They were quite insightful, actually. Teaching kids not to eat too much candy, to watch to much television, etc.

The book was better. I liked Veruca best.

No, in this case the book was definitely not better. Gene Wilder brought something special to that film, something timeless and wonderful. The beauty of the book was merely the story - which was sustained fantastically in the movie. The reason the movie out-does the books, is the visuals. It's great. The script is wonderful, the casting was great. It was cool.

I agree. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory is a truly brilliant film. I have watched it on numerous occasions and Gene Wilder was brilliantly cast as Wonka. He made the film I believe. That and the Oomph Loompahs.

I know someone who bears an uncanny resembalance to Charlie! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/shocked.gif

Hey David! Glad to see you on beatlelinks! Well, I wouldn't exactly compare David to Colin because I don't think that they are very much alike. I don't think that David resembles an Ommpa Lommpa, either. BUT, he sure can sing that song! Beatles songs too! Register soon David!

As for my comments on the movie....brilliant, just brilliant!

This is David, and Charlie and the Chocolate is the best play, especially the Oompa Loompa's songs! Well anyways I'm going to try to go to the beatles exhibit in Chicago over the weekend! My brother was one of the flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz!

It was Brian that was the flying monkey and my other brother is the tall one that looks like Ross and loves the Beatles! PennyLane do you really have all the Beatle CDs, does that include singles?
