View Full Version : Sleepy's return!

As I'm sure everyone here has realized, I haven't been here as often as I normally do. On March 17th Sleepy, my wife, suffered a mild stroke. She originally spent nine days in the hospital and then helping her with therapy and using my vacation in April to take more care of her.

On June 4th she went in for vascular surgery to clean out her carotid artery. The operation went well and she returned home two days later. She has shown a lot of improvement over the last week.

I've kept the other moderators informed and she has read all of their well-wishes. She will make her big time comeback in this thread. Please let her log in and post before anyone adds their thoughts here. Thank you.

Hi all! Bearkat says this is for me to write to. I wish he would have left the other topic up, I don't remember all your names.

I remember the links, but I didn't remember the Links... well you know what I mean.

Lynner sent me a card - I remember getting it, but I don't know what I did with it. <grin>

I remember three names - Rocky, Mom and Dad. I'm fighting trying to remember my girls' names - I keep calling them by my other sisiters' names. <sigh>

I'll try to remember to come by more often. Going to favorite this so I won't forget.

This takes too long, so I will try later to do it again.

Love you all!

(gonna go so bearkat can proofread)

Welcome back, Sleepy! Sorry you've been unwell but glad to hear about your good progress. You'll be as good as new in no time, you'll see! :thumbu1:

And don't worry about forgetting the names. Just do like my mom always done - she just calls any one of us by whatever name occurs to her at the moment. Works like a charm! :eyebrows:

Welcome back Sleepy! I am so glad to hear that things are improving for you on a daily basis, I cannot imagine your frustration but be patient with yourself and your memory, it seems that all of your and kat's hard work is paying off big time. kat says you are cooking more, that is great to do things that come naturally, bet you're a great cook, any Cajun specialties? ((hugs)).......

How wonderful!

I think we should break out the George Harrison and celebrate your return with some George and you've got to invite George to the celebration! :smile1:

Hi Sleepy,
Good to see you on here again, give yourself time, there are things that you just have to learn all over again, I know it doesn't seem possible that a stroke could make your forget... One minute your fine, the next you have to say what is her name???

((hugs))

Welcome back Sleepy, sounds like you've had a bumpy road the last few months. Dealing with the effects of a stroke seems like one of the most frustrating experiences. Hope you're able to stay optimistic and positive, I'm sure it must be tough on some days. My very best wishes go out to you for strength during your recovery!

Sleepy is doing better. SHe has returned to work and now feels like she is accomplishing something meaningful. She's only working part-time right now but it is progress.

Excellent news, Kat! If she's already back on the job it sounds like she's going for a full recovery. Good for her!
