People using accommodation in Prague can indulge in a fresh dose of Beatlemania from Friday (June 4th), when a new exhibition opens in the city.
Taking place at the Czech Museum of Music, the display of Beatles memorabilia is aimed at exploring the legendary British band’s considerable influence on popular culture in the Czech Republic.
It also represents a collaboration with The Beatles Story attraction in Liverpool, which has loaned some its artefacts to the Prague museum.
Speaking to the Prague Post, co-curator Veronika Seidlova explained why the Fab Four remain a subject of great interest for music fans in the Czech Republic.
"Under communism, young people were really attracted to western culture … The Beatles were an icon of this fascination with the west," she commented.
The exhibition will feature items such as original Madame Tussaud waxworks of the four members, created in the 1960s during the filming of A Hard Day’s Night.
It also includes a banjolele - a cross between a banjo and a ukulele - owned by George Harrison.
