This is a tough one, but I'll go with See Yourself. Although the lyrics are awesome, I don't really like the melody too much, off beats and all.
I'm rather surprised to see so many people choosing Woman Don't You Cry For Me with that great slide guitar and nice use of whatever keyboard it has.

My post is pure political because I am surprised how some posters take Dear One off, very surprised but then, maybe even not.

I'm a little confused. If you would not have voted off Dear One, then wouldn't you chose the one you would really vote off? I don't understand what you mean by political. Do you mean chosing one already chosen soas to keep Dear One on the list?

I don't look at what others chose, just chose the one I would least listen to currently. That is the closest thing to a Survivor type secret ballot.

Dear One is very special. It has meaningful lyrics, of course it ties in to both Paramahansa Yoganansa and to Sri Daya Mata. There is an overall tone which is reminiscent of Guruji's harmonium songs, so such a lovely tribute. But... we must chose one!

For me, and I do understand why George chose the style of music to accord with Master's own music.... but just in my opinion he did the same sort of thing on Mother Divine in a more vibrant way. Musically, Dear One comes across a little sleepy for me. That is true for me for Yogananda's chants as well. Some I play over and over... some are a little sleepy and maybe get more plays by other devotees.

I prefer See Yourself, Fish on the Sand, and Mother Divine in George's group of 'songs for Yogananda.'

Dear One IS a very special song. My church, the Catholic church uses that song for our prayer meetings, Bible studies and discussion groups. It is a beautiful prayer set to music. It not only unifies Eastern and Western philosophies/beliefs, it unifies PEOPLE. It is a song that is very deep and meaningful to many people.

Talking about confusion :thinker:

I have not voted Dear One off. I find it hard to vote on this one, period. So I was not going to.

As for your last question, yes, that is political voting.

Of course there comes a time a song like Dear One goes off, yet it seemed somewhat sad/odd to me seeing the votes for it in the first round, that's all, it is no habit, just a one off.

I see... well...

anyway, I explained my logic behind voting the song off. Nothing to be sad over! When I vote songs off, I'm not judging spiritual merit or anything philosophical. I just think- which do I play least these days? That's the answer!

If we were doing a contest based on spiritual merits, then it's a whole different ball of wax.

See Yourself

But it's hard to vote against any song on this album.

BTW Someone mentioned "Mother Divine". Has that song been officially released anywhere or is it just available as a bootleg?
