Has anyone ever told you how sick you are?http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif Paperback, you know my favorite song. No one else does! My #1 is his #3, American Pie. I am also crazy about Cherish, Over the Rainbow, and London Rain. They are great. Maybe I'll make a Top 25 list too, when I have the time.

There is nothing wrong with liking the music of yesteryear. If you're not familiar with some of it, give it a try and you'll see why we like it. As for more recent music, the majority of it isn't worth the effort of listening to, let alone buying it.
Occassionly, someone comes out with a "new" song, and people can't get enough of it. What a lot of them don't realize, that so-called "new" song is actually a cover of an older song.
A couple of examples:
1. Motley Crue released "Smoking In The Boy's Room", it was originally done by a group called Brownsville Station.
2. Bruce Springsteen came out with the song "War". Have you ever heard of someone by the name of Edwin Starr? He did it first.

They are the same song. It was written by Crosby, Kantner, and Stills. They were friends and together on "Blows Against The Empire", which was the first Jefferson Starship album (and easily the most interesting) featuring Kantner, Slick, Crosby, and Garcia. A concept album about taking a starhip into space and starting a new colony.

Prince looks like a dwarf who's been dipped in a bucket of pubic hair.

Truely great bands are very rare these days, but my favorite current band is probobly Hooty and the Blowfish. Favorite non-Beatles songs, i guess would be

1)Born In The USA (Springstein)
2)My Hometown (John Melloncamp)
3)I'm A Believer(Monkees)
4)Only Want To Be With You (Hooty etc.)
5)The Times They Are a'Changing (Dylan)

I have the same with the Dog Song. It's on airplay so much out here.

To the lyrics etc. well that's not much but how about be-bop-a-lula, ba-ba-baluba-bala-bamboo (or something like that) tutti-frutty, O Rudy etc.

A wise man once wrote;
It doesn't really matter what chords I play
What words I say or time of day it is
As it's only a Northern song.
