I love singing and writing songs. I've got a couple of mean tunes under my belt which could go worldwide to number 1!!!! (In a dream world, but they're better than the crap that's being played now.)
I also like writing poems and short stories, although I never really finish any of my stories.
I love the internet, and slapping people over the head with a large, wet, amphibious creature. (Whoops, I think I've resorted to Monty Python mode, which is another like of mine.)
I love watching programs that'll make me laugh. Comedies are an obvious favourite.

Hola, amigos e amigas.
Does anyone have interests besides the obvious one? (I won't even name that one, because I have reason to believe that none of us are TOO stupid.) Personally, I am a theatre fanatic. I have been in numerous plays, and I love it! I also have a thing for singing and writing. Just curious about everyone else. I know there is some sort of life beyond the Beatles! (Hardly!)

No, I happen to believe he's consistent enuff to go pro, but that takes a LOT of money...first off, you can't really keep a job if you're hopping around the country looking for the next tourney, so bill money has to come from somewhere, plus all of the travel expenses (lodging, transportation, emergency medical, meals, clothing...) On top of all of those expenses pro tours cost money to enter...lineage, prize funds, organizers' fees...
Alas, until Mr. Kat manages to convince someone with bottomless pockets that he's worth backing, this lil family of five needs Poppa to keep his 9 to 5'er http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/frown.gif

I don't really like double posting (seems like cheating to me), but the other post was to answer LenMac...
Now onto my interests ;0
I used to write...but putting out books costs money, and no sponsors were found there either...
I used to sing in the choir, but now my job interferes with practice time...
I collect rosaries, holy cards, and Bibles (just got a recent reprint of the Douay-Rheims!)
I read books...by the dozen! I love mysteries, horror books (but not graphically violent ones), and the occasional "fluff" book for when I don't really have time to read, but I'm reading anyway, LOL!
I also tend to collect books...not rare ones, or any others would consider of value, just what I like to re-read...Steven King, JRR Tolkein, CS Lewis, Edgar Allan Poe, Louisa May Alcott, Og Mandino...
My most time-consuming hobby is building websites, like Bearkat's (actually, I'm more into homepages, but I didn't want his site to have that kind of ambience)...
I love to draw (pencil sketches used eat all of my time and money), so now I've gone and got PSP6, and am learning how to manipulate it http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif
I go to boxerJam quite a lot, because my end-all favourite thing to do is logic problems and trivia questions, LOL!

Mmmm lets see now,
Soccer, Republic of Ireland used to be pretty good, even beat Italy in the World Cup in Giants Stadium, and I WAS THERE!!!!
Live music, there is a really good live music scene here in Dublin, and I go to as many gigs as I can.
Internet Surfin' (although that is nearly always Beatle related, so may not count.)
Running the fan club with really good friends, and the festival. I know I know, but it DOES take up a lot of time!!
Listening to music, I have a ginormous range of music, 30 years collecting. Current faves: Kula Shaker (sadly, no more)
Reading. I read voraciously, at least 2-3 books a week, and love murder mysteries!

Len-Mac,
The band are called 'The Buttles' and now that I think of it, I am not all that sure that they are from Wolverhampton, but these Wolves people I met go to see them regularly, so they cant be from too far away.
As to Liverpool in August, I know what you meant, but I confess that I never go to the usual Beatle haunts during festival week, I spend practically all my time at the gigs, and never see the light of day! Staying up 'till 7am in the lobby of the Adelphi, singing along with all the musicians who are 'winding down' (pissed as coots!) I have a ball!! SH, I had to read Harry Potter for school. It was pretty good. It is about a boy who was born into a family of wizards. Yet, when he is a baby, an evil wizard kills his family. Somehow, little Harry survives and goes to live with his mean aunt and uncle, who are not wizards. Harry has no idea that he is a wizard until strange things begin to happen, and he begins to attend a wizard school. He is treated like a celebrity, as he is famous for having escaping the murder. He meets friends at the school, and starts to unlock a long kept secret that could alter the existence of the school and Harry alike. It is a fairly short read. My mother loved it, and is about your age. If you do read it, tell me what you think.

The best book I have ever read is "Replay" by Ken Grimwood about a guy who dies every year on his 40th birthday and at first awakens as a 19 year old and lives with all his memories of the past life until he's 40 and the same thing happens but he replays each time at a slightly different age but has total recall of all other existences and gets to live each one with the past knowledge. I will not reveal the end, but even if you don't read much, this one will knock you out.

I've been in Carnival, i played a roustabout and gypsy! I was in Talk Radio, I played Ruth. She was this crazy lady who was an animal activist. I was in 1984, I wa sin the ensemble and the waitress. And So It Goes, I played a detective. (These were fairly small parts in High School). I've done lots of tech work. I was an extra in Why Do Fools Fall In Love (horrible movie, and my scene is so dark you can't see anybody in it. It took place in an audience.)I directed two drama plays, Coming To Terms, which was monologues from the book 'Nam. They were stories from people who had been in the Vietnam war. And I helped co direct the Sandbox. It was a very bizarre play, but it was good. I played Tigger in a childrens play. It seems like a lot, but it's not really. LOL. I was shy and drama helped me open up. I wish I could go back and be how I am now, when I first started drama, 'cause I know I would have had bigger parts.
How long have you been acting?

okay now...I don't really think it's nice to keep calling beatledork names (spastic, dork, etc.) because....well..it's just not nice.
Now..... BEATLEDORK!.....Stop freaking everyone out. No one is enjoying it and no one thinks it is funny at all. Not funny. You got that? If you come to this site, you will be expected to talk about things beatle-related, and that is all! Otherwise, go some where else if that's not what you want talk about. Thank you.

On my spare time I like scaring Ritat with certain yellow fruits. But besides that I like singing and drawing. But besides that I like playing miscellaneous sports and activites like badmitten. Other things I like doing is listening to the beatles, of course, and eating pasta! Does anyone here like SNL? I think it was the best when it had its old cast, but it's still good.

SNL = Saturday Night Live
When this show began back in 1975, it was the first live show on TV in years. The original cast were great. When they were replaced at the beginning of the 1980 season, I began to lose interest in it. There have been a few from the show since then to make it big.
But as I said above, the original cast were the best. They were Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Jane Curtain, Garrett Morris, Laraine Newman and Gilda Radner. They were the original Not Ready For Prime Time Players.

It went downhill after the cast with Mike Myers, Chris Farley, Adam Sandler and all of them left. I caught the new ones once and I couldn't believe how lame they were! It's been a while since I read this thread and I guess I missed something lol.

sweet counter col! hey, did you ever finish "the catcher in the rye?" that is my favorite book of all time. it's odd, it really has no plot, but it's so incredible just the same. the only books that are even in the same ballpark as that are king's "dark tower" series (esp. #4), and the book i'm reading now (thanks karl!): "hearts in atlantis," also by stephen king. deep stuff underneath an already good storyline. great stuff.

Sweet counter? That's where you buy sweets, right?
I did, I did finish it! I loved it, it's really good. You're completely right about the lack of an obvious plot, but that's what makes it so compelling. I thought it was great, and one of the best books I have read in a long time. You have good taste!

I want to know what 'badmitton' is, I have this vision of a shuttlecock being batted over a net by a cute little knitted pink number, with a drawstring to keep it in your jacket, so you dont lose it!
I read everything from Agatha Christie to Dostoevsky, and I particularly like murder mysteries, even thought they are usually quite predictable, and currently am reading quite a lot of Patricia Cornwall. I also help my Husband with organising National Schools Soccer. Enough?
