Well, Marz does get around, so she knows quite a few of the men around here. Just kidding! Actually, I've known Marz for a few years. And of course, Brett is the fixer upper - I've known him since we began to walk. We lived within shouting distance of each other our entire lives - and then he had to ruin everthing and go to USC while I was at UCLA.

Thanks Jerry. I guess I should've expected you to take a hit at me when I'm not even here to defend myself. And thanks to everyone else for speaking up for me. Yeah, unfortunately I know Jerry, we go way back. I told you all the sob story of how he fell desperately in love with me but I refused to speak to him due to his obsession with the Beatles (and of course his age.) But now that I'm slowly learning about the beautiful Beatles, I've begun to accept him as a friend... at least until he started insulting me... oh wait, that's everyday.

Not that I'm sorry that we've known each other for so long, but that it makes us seem old!

No, she hid it from me until the damage was done. I actually bought her the "Black and Blue" album! I think it's what caused "1" to be overtaken there for a short while. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/cry.gif

Glen, we have electric guitar, electric/accoustic guitar, bass and drums. Same instrumentation as the early Beatles, but we do a lot of later songs as well. It's all in the arrangement. A guitar band. For example,we do the entire Abbey Rd album except Because, 6 from Pepper, and about the same from White and a few from Mag Mys Tour, and half of Let It Be. And lots of early ones.

JTAL909 : After reading your post from the New York Beatlefest forum, I see you're very organized on the script and selection of your Beatles tunes the "Billy Shears Band" plays. Congratulations again Jtal909 on the NYC Beatlefest gig...!! I stand corrected. I guess those US Grant $50 bills are going to be Benjamin Franklin $100 dollars next time I see you. Maybe we can fly you and your mates to the Denver, Colorado area for a gig..... Weekend getaway. Continue Success Jtal909...!! Thanks again for the info.

I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for the interest.
We've been playing together every Fri night for about 10 years (like a standing card game)and the last 5 years have turned us into a Beatles band as a few girl singers and a funky guitarist quit and we were just down to the boys. We also do other 60's rock like The Searchers thrown in. We've played at various events and benefits in the South Jersey area to keep it real. As soon as I can figure out how, there will probably be a website.

Sounds very interesting, jtal! Can't wait to find out more! Tell me ..... what is it that you play in the band, or do you sing, or??

jtal909
Apr 01, 2001, 02:00 PM
I'm the lead guitar player. I also sing lead on 6 or 7 tunes and background on others. Our rhythem guitarist sings most leads, drummer a few, and bass player less but lots of background. Interesting thing is that I've known the rhytem guitarist and drummer since we were kids and we hooked up again after all these years. I played in bands throughout college and the following years after, then put down the guitar until I hooked up a different incarnation of this group. At first it was a jam session but we did it for so long that we got tight and started arranging songs for performance.
