I'm a new member and play in Beatle Band. We have "I Am the Walrus" that we recorded on mp3 format. If anyone would like to hear it, please tell me how to post it.

Sounds like your band needs a website. How else could you get listed on BeatleLinks.net? Gee, I really love plugging the site every chance I get!http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/tongue.gif

Which beatle do you play?

We don't imitate the Beatles, like I've seen bands do. But we do stay true to their arrangements and play the songs the way the Beatles did. More like a tribute band I guess.

penny and i are going to have a band, but besides penny, no one else has any musical talent. well, i can write lyrics ( which will do no good in a beatles tribute) and play the piano. but penny has the best voice you'd ever hear, and we have a name... sgt peppers one and only lonely hearts club band. but i still like penny's classic "Imagine Nation" or my "We Are The Walrus"

I sort of liked We Dig Ponies, but that was paperback's idea. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

The only problem is that was a Lennon song, not the Beatles.

So what if it was a Lennon song. He was a member fo the Beatles wasn't he? I love the name so much I'm going to steal it and use it myself with my band. (If I had one.)
Seriously though, I love the name. I'd love to make a band. I can write really good music, but rubbish lyrics. I'd love to be in a band, but nobody else I know does.

Harb, I'm in the same boat, the exact same damn boat.
Until I go back to Uni in September I guess.

Harb, I am just the opposite. I can do lyrics, but not music.

I can do both, but no band.
I could do a Dylan! What's the use in a protest song, when nobody wants to protest.

I sort of suggested Imagine Nation as a joke. Do you think it could really work?

Back in the Dark Ages, when I was in high school, our stage band and I were going to form our own band after graduation. Needless to say, our plans fell through and we all went our separate ways.
But one of our highlights, while we were together, was when we performed a Beatle concert in the auditorium. Myself and two other guys handled the vocals and the brass section did a fine job, too.
We played every #1 song plus "Got To Get You Into My Life", "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", and "With A Little Help From My Friends".

We are The Billy Shears Band. Whenever we play anywhere, we tell people that the drummer is Billy Shears, because we're always asked who that is. I'm surprised not too many people get it. We played at a Summerfest once as an opening act and when we finished, the emcee actually said. "Thanks, Billy!"
At one show we called ourselves the Billy Shears/ Georgie Wood Band.

While I am used to folks sayin' they never cared for the Beatles, I almost dropped my eye-teeth the other day when someone asked me "What's the beetles?".....obviously a hold-over from the ice-age or something...
