Personally, I usually think of Beatlemania John, but sometimes I think of Sgt.Pepper John.

I voted for "White Album John".....

I know it might sound strange, but I identify "John" with his first "long hair and glasses" era (no beard and crazy-long hair). I think of the long hair, glasses, jeans, playing the recently-stripped-down-to-natural-wood Epiphone Casino.

I know he was "John" the whole time... but, for some reason, The White Album (post-India) time is what I think of.

I had the iconic White Album photo of John hanging in my bedroom for my entire adolescence, so it's my default image of him.

Early 70s would be next, because it's when I came to know John.

I love him best from the Beatlemania days, but the image I instantly associate with the name John Lennon is from the early 70's, from Imagine. I think that was one of the first pictures I ever saw of him.
