Great news about Tom Petty, a little outdated.

Read on From Tom's website. You can listen to one of the songs called "Good Enough" see the link below. I have played it many times already and it is sensational. It is a blues kind of song starting with a great slide guitar solo and it lasts almost 6 minutes. Awesome music with plenty of them electric guitars in it. There is even a touch of "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" in it.

And another song of the album. 'First Flash Of Freedom' which is another heavy guitar song with a late 70's sound in it.

Awesome

That album cover was actually a joke by one of the members on the officials. Here's the real one, supposedly:

I would think that some Petty fans would love to talk about his fantastic new album but just as it is with for instance the new George songs many of the ladies here are only interested in looks and sexy pics and wavey hair

Tom Petty has wavy hair??? You sure about that, FP? :thinker:

I haven't heard the new album except for I Should Have Known It, which was quite nice, but then I'm not a diehard TP fan - although certain elements are trying their best to change that! :devious:

However, I see that Jefferson Jericho Blues is now available on Youtube in the Tom Petty channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/tompetty?blend=2&ob=1). Catchy classic rock blues, this one.

Its a good album, I like it. But its not my favorite. I can say that its not another Torpedoes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damn_the_Torpedoes_%28album%29) but its a good album in its own respect.

Heres the final album cover.

P.S. I dont think Tom has wavy hair. But Heartbreakers with beards scare the shit outta me.

And some people only see what they expect to see! Here's what Aimee said that you missed, FP:
Its a good album, I like it. But its not my favorite. I can say that its not another Torpedoes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damn_the_Torpedoes_%28album%29) but its a good album in its own respect. Why don't you ask her why she prefers Torpedoes if you want a serious discussion?

I haven't heard the whole album but I sure did say what I thought of the two tracks I HAVE listened to! Why didn't you say what you thought of them?

So far I can't see any album review by FPSHOT. How about doing a track by track rundown and maybe you'll see a deeper discussion?

Some bad news about Mike Campbell from Tom's website

July 20, 2010
Cleveland Show Rescheduled for August 31st - Mike Campbell Update

Tonight’s postponed show at the Blossom Music Center in Cleveland, OH has been rescheduled for August 31st.

All tickets for tonight’s original date will be honored on August 31st. We hope fans can make the newly rescheduled date.

Mike Campbell was admitted to the hospital as a precautionary measure following his fainting at Sunday night’s sweltering hot show in Maryland Heights, MO.

He has remained in the hospital on doctor’s orders prompting the postponement of tonight’s original Blossom Music Center date.

Mike is expected to be released from the hospital tomorrow to play Thursday night’s Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers show in Detroit, MI.

Mike sincerely thanks everyone for their well wishes!

Has anybody seen the new Classic Albums Damn the Torpedoes documentary? It was great!

I also forgot to mention. I got a hold of Heartbreakers' Beach Party, which is an obscure-ish documentry from 1983 .... Cameron Crowe directed it, it was his first film.

I also got a hold of a movie from 1978 called FM. Tom makes a three-minute cameo in it, and says about 10 words. The rest of the movie was pretty awful, tbh, I couldnt watch it all the way and there were some riots at the end and I went "what the fuck?"

Edit: Some screencaps. I actually have about 30 but Im not gonna post them all.

looks and sexy pics and wavey hair

By the way, after analyses of 40-some videos and a random sample of my picture collection I come to the conclusion that Tom Petty has stick-straight hair.
but if you're not interested in the looks, I could post various articles, i have quite a few. Heres some samples:

In fact, my biggest hobby is chasing women. Although there are those I can live without, like the ones who come backstage and start undressing you before the gig ... I'm in this business for chicks. -- April 1977

So it comes out in big, bold type: HE'S ONLY IN IT FOR THE CHICKS. So we get to England, and by the time we got off the plane they were there. I mean every hotel. Chicks everywhere. It was really crazy and every day I had to say, "No, really, I like music too." -- February 1979

Did he have any theory on why he and the Heartbreakers were the hardest rocking band with a predominantly female following?
"We're better looking," Petty laughs, then grows more thoughtful. "I enjoy girls immensely, and I think they're part of what a rock concert should be. Whenever I go to a punk show and it's all boys on the dance floor, I think, 'Hey, there's something missing here. Where's the sex?'" -- March 1983

When it's suggested that he's chosen a line of work that seems to take its toll on marriage, Petty offers a typically forthright insight. "It does if you're prone to fuck a lot of people," he says. "That will cause a lot of problems." -- August 1991

But we're havin' a lot of fun. And thanks for havin' us and playing our records. Um, you know, we often turn on the Today Show and dance naked around the room. (much laughter by the Heartbreakers) -- October 2002
