From "The Beatles Examiner" Steve Marinucci:

We've just gotten word from Weinstein Co., distributor in the U.S. for "Nowhere Boy," the drama about the pre-Beatles Liverpool life of John Lennon, that a big-screen release date for the film here has been announced. The film will be released in America on Oct. 8, the day before what would have been his 70th birthday.

Although I'm relieved they have finally announced a release date, why the $@!* is it so far in the future??! The DVD will be out in the UK 5 months before we even get to see it in theaters here. :angry6:

Anyway, thanks for posting.

No prob! :wink2:

You can be sure that the late release date is to make sure they get maximum financial capitalization on the season between John's 70th B-Day and the 30th anniversary of John's passing.

Maybe I misunderstand things, but I am somewhat surprised about this 'breaking news' about a Cinema release in October in the US.

It runs in the cinema's here as from 6 days from now :teeth1: so I probably will see it within the coming 2 weeks. The trailer looks very promissing.

That is a HUGE difference in release dates! Why is it coming to the US so late?
Yikes, I don't want to ask how long before it'll be in theaters in Canada...
