Ok folks, What did I buy ? I just bought a 4 vinyls set with the title Beatles Alpha-Omega. It has 56 Beatle songs and 4 solo songs. From what I can tell it is a an Audio Tape Inc.(N.J.) record.
Is it a bootleg? I have never seen anything like it. Any help would be appreciated.

The Beatles - Alpha Omega was a TV mail-order package. It was released by Audio Tape Inc. with the catalog # ATRBH 35832. I have had a copy of it for quite some time. It first appeared in early 1973. There is supposedly a Vol. 2 also made available through the mail. I would really like to find a copy of it.
Because of Alpha Omega, EMI issued The Beatles 1962-1966 and The Beatles 1967-1970 in April 1973.

I think it is what you called a semi-official release, like John Lennon Roots.
It was released officialy, not as a Bootleg before Apple got hold of it and forbid furture distribution. After which it became sort of a bootleg I guess.

Thanks very much guys. Does this mean it is fairly rare? The box is a little worn but the albums are in great shape.

I guess it would be worth something, as it only has been briefly released, I don't know how much tho, if Harb see this perhaps he has an idea.
Anyroad I sought profesional help, not for myself mind you.And found there are indeed two volumes, both containing 4 lp's with Beatles and solo material. The second set has no catolog number after ATRBH.
The proper term for this set would be a pirate instead of a bootleg, since it contains officially released material, not outtakes or live recordings.
