Hey everyone!
I just got an iTunes gift card....
I already have lots of music on my iPod, I'm looking for suggestions of what to download next. I have all The Beatles.
I'm looking for hard rock, really funky soul, 60's groovy, and kick a** power pop.

Don't forget about early Elvis Costello. Excellent songwriting, and some would say Beatlesque. Also recommend XTC.

I second some Elvis Costello! My Aim Is True is one of my favorite albums.

Those are both great suggestions.

Hard Rock: AC/DC (Bon Scott era), Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy.
Power Pop: How about the relatively over-looked power trio Material Issue. Not sure if they're on iTunes... but if they are, check them out. They should have been huge but their star faded rather quickly. Speaking of "star"... how about Big Star?
Have fun!!! LOVE iTunes cards!

Gotta echo the Elvis Costello suggestion... he's one of the greats!
For funky 60s/70s soul, try Sly and the Family Stone or Al Green. Have a listen...

Here's my favorite Al Green song. (I couldn't find a studio version, which would be a million times better... but his voice is unbelievable!)

Here's a studio version of another song (just so you can really hear him sing):

Have you got James Brown? I'm telling you, that stuff is intense!

Invite Eric Clapton and Eric Clapton with Cream.
You also need the Who, some Turtles (Flo & Eddie) and you've got to have the Animals and the DC-5. Be sure to invite Tony Bennett as well.

I still have about 20 songs worth left. I'm loving these suggestions.
