I just watched this guy on American Idol butcher "Under My Thumb" in some strange lounge-reggae style. Good lord! Yuck!!!!

Yes, Crystal is like in a whole 'nother league than the others. This may "hurt" her as a result - as far as winning American Idol is concerned.

But she is set! She'll have a recording contract with or without AI.

Why he's still there is a puzzle. Actually, it's not... when you consider that millions of tween-aged girls who probably think he's "cute" are voting like a 3 dozen times each! That, plus he's got that whole religious fan base going for him. Considering these things, he may be around longer than he deserves to be. I mean, he's ALREADY around longer than he deserves to be! :cross2:

I've never really watched American Idol, but my dad does and I've been more aware of what's been going on with it since he and I became roomies. Siobhan is definitely my favorite out of the performances I've overheard from the other room.

The Rolling Stones show with the final twelve was the first full episode I've ever seen. I mean, I really like the Stones and all - but my boyfriend and I agreed that they were a terrible band to pick for this sort of contest. Sure, some of the preformances were really good, but Mick has such a distinct sound and they're all so....vanilla. Don't get me wrong, they have lovely singing voices and sing far better than I could even in my wildest dreams, but I've heard them before, you know?

Well.... going on last night's performances, I think Paige might be saying "so long!". She was simply awful last night - yeesh!!!! :afraid2:

However, Tim Urban - who should have gone weeks before - should be going, and Paige should get another shot to redeem herself.

Of course, those of you on the east coast already know who was booted off as I type this. :cross2:

I love Crystal, Siobhan(my 2 faves) and Didi, Crystal is unique along with Shiobhan, I just love Didi's voice, wish she would have done a Joni Mitchell song, perhaps a Phoebe Snow song???? I hate the mixed messages the contestants have had from the judges, show more personality for instance, then when they do, it's corny or cocky???????

my favorite was andrew. he had the best voice out of all of them, and it was DEFINITELY the most commercial and recordable. his voice was incredible in my opinion.

cant believe he went home before the andrew dude (my family calls him the 'mouse' lol!) and tim urban! andrew was AMAZING. his acoustic version of 'forever' was absolutely genius.

eeh well. im sure he'll wind up making an album, everybody on that show does. whether theyre good enough or not.

and thanks, very much, 62hofner, for telling me who went home. (sarcastic...) we recorded it and we're going to watch it tonight. but i guess the suspense is gone now! GRR!!!

I'm kinda there with you hofner, I loved Siobhan, what a beautiful clean, clear voice, she was so unique, it could have come to blows if it came down to Crystal and Siobhan between my sister and I.....

You guys big Siobhan fans, yeah? She was just okay for me, I guess. I didn't mind her, but like Simon, didn't really like the screaming parts at the ending of every single song. But she was cool in her way.

Now that Paige has been sent home, mostly I like Crystal a lot and Mike. Mike just has such a great voice, tremendous. I think Casey is the most sensitive, he always looks so sad if he's in the bottom three. So I voted for Casey a couple times. :smile1: I think winning might mean the most to him, and he is really talented.

But yeah, Aaron is such a sweet kid, too. Lee did a great job the past couple weeks.

I think Crystal should likely win. Mike or Casey maybe are my second choices.

This was one of the most special moments this season... at first, the singers went into "How Deep Is Your Love" and ... well, it was not the arrangement I am used to! I covered my ears, closed my eyes a little... but was peeking... when out walks Barry and Robin. Really a terrific surprise!
