I just got this 17-disc Yellow Cat set in a trade. I'm almost done listening to it.
I simply adore Paul being DJ! He plays some obscure raeggae (which I'm not fond of but I still listen to), lots of Rude Studio outtakes, and tons of soundcheck songs. Every episode has a little preachy veggie thing, but Linda's recipes sound yummy.
I think this is Paul at his best. He's funny, smart, and even pokes fun at himself occassionally. images/icons/smile.gif
Has anyone else heard Ooobu Joobu?

I only have the last double cd, which is kind of a compilation of the set. That's really enough for me, I got the change to buy the complete set but I passed it on. Had it been like the Lost Lennon Tapes set, which I got, I would have bought it.
It's nice listening to but Paul's outtakes are often incomplete and there are often songs on the set by other artists. There are good bootlegs that gives you the complete McCartney outtakes, including a set of 4 cd-s with the soundcheck songs.
I got magazines with info on Oobu Joobu, if interested I can make some kind of Oobu Joobu special.

Yeah, I know there's better places for outtakes, but it's so interesting for Paul of all people to introduce them. I mean, that's kinda out of character for him. Or my view of him anyway.
I can't imagine him listening to all these outtakes and soundchecks (which I'm not suprised he keeps, I suppose) and picking the "good" ones out. It astounds me.
So...what kind of Oobu Joobu special are you talking about here. images/icons/wink.gif
