A short review my latest bootleg purchase.

If you just want one bootleg of Paul's latest tour, other perhaps then that of a concert you've been to, the best one out there is "Home Is Where The Heart Is" by the Yellow Dog sublabel Rattle Snake. It's a 3 cd package of Paul's last concert of the Back in the world tour, in Liverpool on the 1st of June 2003.This is almost the same as an release by Picaddily Records 2003 (Japan) except for the fact that that one is a cd-r and this is on silver disc and has 4 bonus tracks from the show in Rome, Italy.

It's and audience recording but the sound quality is really good. All the in between chanter is intact, and there are some songs Paul didn't play on the rest of the tour, "Maggie Mae" "Honey Hush" and a brief version of "I Lost My Little Girl" . A very good performance also.

I've put up Maggie Mae (http://home.zonnet.nl/carryingwords/downloads.htm) as a download.Sit back to enjoy this great rocking version of the song from Paul live in Liverpool.

I've never heard of Rattle Snake.

This release is puzzling because every other release of Paul's Liverpool show includes the soundcheck. I know of at least two versions like that. But for some reason, the soundcheck is at the end of mine.

I've heard rumors of a soundcheck version floating around the Yahoo Beatleg group too, I wonder why a YD subsideary wouldn't use that instead of a fan recording.

Don't you mean soundboard recording?

Ratle Snake only released two Beatle related bootlegs, maybe that's why you never heard of them. One was indeed a soundboard recording of Paul's concert in Washington DC April 2002, but it's not always the case that they use sounboard recordings, sometimes use is being made of the best audience recording posible.Strawberry released a Wings concert from 72 "Arles 72" and they used an audience recording for that to.

Are you sure the other releases you've seen are soundboards recordings, I mean if it's out there then it is strange that Yellow Dog/Rattle Snake hasn't used it, tho again I have no complaints about the sound. Did you download "Maggie Mae" and compare?

I only know of one other Liverpool bootleg. It's a Japanese 3 cd-r set, and I believe they used the same recordings. Also without the soundcheck.

The site however mentiones a 17 track soundcheck cd-r.

No, I'm sorry, I mean soundboard. Let me clarify:

I was trying to say that the other two (at least) versions I've heard of are NOT soundboard (but ARE audience recordings). However, they DO include the soundcheck. I was wondering why your's doesn't.

I've only heard rumors of a soundboard-quality version.
