This is the review for the Beatles For Sale 24-Bit Stereo Remaster. Onosideboards asked for this so I'm gonna compare the Capitol/Parlophone Mono release with this Bootleg Stereo Remaster.
.No Reply - After listening to the official version I notice something. It sounds very flat. The remaster really makes a difference for me. It's kinda like B&W vs. Color TVS. It is a huge difference. The drums and bass just seem to come out louder and more clearer in this version. There is echo added onto the voice that makes John's voice sound great. The hand claps also sounds a lot better.
.I'm A Loser - What makes a big difference here is that the volume was adjusted a little and you can here Paul a lot better on the chorus. The guitar also comes through a lot better and sounds great on headphones. The harmonica is also a lot clearer too and sounds great.
.Baby's In Black - It used to be that John had the dominate voice on this song and Paul was kind of hinding behind it but now they are both at equal level and when they start singing "Oh How Long Will It Take" it now seems as though Paul is the dominate voice.
.Rock N Roll Music - With the guitars and piano in separate channles this song and John's voice in both this song improves a lot over the official version. You realize more about the piano playing in this song then you do with the official version.
.I'll Follow The Sun - There really wasn't much to improve on this song but the Paul's vocals sound warmer and the acoustic guitar is in the right channel with the electric in the other.
.Mr. Moonlight - It seems as though the instruments were brought up so they were not as drowned out by the vocals and it does sound better. The solo and percussion make a noticeable improvement.
.Kansas City/Hey Hey Hey Hey - Well the guitar in the beginning sounds a lot better. The official version sounds distorted. The claps sound great and the background vocals are clearer.
.Eight Days A Week - The claps once again stand out and become more part of the music. The background vocals are not as background and are just as powerful as John's lead. John's voice also comes through more powerful and crisper. The acoustic guitar is a little louder on the intro and makes a nice improvement.
.Words Of Love - I noticed on the official release that the guitar kind of drowns everything else out. Not in this version. The guitar doesn't lose anything but everything else sounds more there. The percussion is also more evident.
.Honey Don't - The opening guitars sound more crisper. Ringo's voice is more fuller. This version is not that big of a difference but enough to make it sound better then the original.
.Every Little Thing - The acoustic guitar gets a great treatment here and it now sounds better then ever. I used to love the percussion on the original version and this one makes me love it even more.
.I Don't Want To Spoil The Party - Once again the acoustic seems to dominate the sounds of this and I love it again. The background vocals also sound superb. The George's guitar sounds great on this song. This is one of the best remaster jobs on the cd.
.What You're Doing - Not to much of a big change here. Background and percussion sound better.
.Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby - Echo has been added on to George's vocals and the guitar sounds more criper.
After getting this album I took one of my cases where you can hold two discs but it looks like a single cd case and put my official beatles for sale cd and this bootleg remaster in it with the original booklet etc. so when I go somewhere I have both cds. I probably will be using this cd more often because the sound is just so much better. This is as close to or better then the album sound that your gonna get. I really enjoy having this and HOPE that George Martin and Capitol get together and improve on this bootleg. I can't wait for the Beatles on SACD.
If anyone would like to trade me for this bootleg leave a message here or private message me.
