Yes, I know that Band on the Run was released on a 24k gold CD. There were probably more too. I've never understood the attraction to those though...

Double Fantasy was also released on MFSL gold cd.
I am sure the sound quality is better then the normal cd-s, tho it might depend on your stereo system.I don't have any of those and I wouldn't know if the Imagine release is any better then the re-released remastered version.
John Lennon - Imagine Ultradisc II™ 24 kt. Gold CD
Utilizing updated remixes supervised by Yoko Ono herself, classic tracks such as “Imagine” and “Jealous Guy” are unveiled with sparkling detail and spectacular resolution. Listeners will literally surrender to the delicacy of “Oh My Love” and rally to protest anthems such as “Give Me Some Truth” and “I Don’t Want To Be A Soldier” as forgotten idealism is rekindled. From ferocity to fragility, MFSL’s mastering accompanies and refines the wide emotional range and sheer beauty that comprises Phil Spector's tasteful production of John Lennon’s Imagine.

As I don't think these are bootlegs, but official releases I will move the topic to, "And Your bird can sing".
